What’s your opinion on people eating cat meat and dog meat?

It's strange to me since I love dogs and cats as pets and find them intelligent and cute. But if I try to step outside of my upbringing, I don't think it's so strange since pigs can be cute and incredibly smart, for example, and make nice pets, but I love bacon.

One angle I'm wondering about is if farming dogs and cats for food is practical. Cats tend to need high-protein diets and dogs too to a lesser extent, for example. I lack knowledge of farming but I think a lot of the animals consumed most widely like pigs, cows, and chickens have the benefit of being able to largely eat foods ill-suited for human consumption and serve as very practical food sources en masse.

I'm thinking part of why we can see such animals like cows, for example, as food sources without thinking it's gross or weird or cruel (with the exception of vegans) is that beef is very practical to mass-produce as food. For example, with what little I know about cattle farming, cows can live and graze on lands that can barely grow anything besides grass and weeds and eat all sorts of stuff that humans can't digest like bean hulls. Meanwhile, if we tried to farm dogs and cats for food, they'd probably be hunting and scavenging other animals.

Then again insect farming sounds extremely practical and sustainable, but most of us would probably find the idea of eating insects gross regardless.

Cats and dogs also sound difficult to keep in a confined space. Cats are extremely good at jumping and climbing, and dogs can dig under fences.

That is horrible, I saw something one time, and no offense to what I'm about to say but I was going to this Chinese Restaurant to eat cause I like their salad bar and I looked between their building and no shit, they had a dog tied on a short leash and I know I wasn't seeing things, I felt so bad for that dog and you can see that dog had hardly any room to move walk around but to this day I'm sorry I didn't call the police to get that dog help

Maybe you should try to introduce them into McDonald's or Sunkist tuna are steak and baked potatoes I mean do they even know that there's other Foods out there LOL does that for me I can't do it if I absolutely had to I would but now turn right now I got to go by

Assuming it doesn't make us sick, kill us, etc. As meat-eaters, if we ate it and didn't know it was cat or dog meat, then it would only really be as bad as our mind allows it to. Weird to think about, eh?
