Anyone have a German Shepard?

All Shepherds want to do is make you happy and work for you. 😃 Dogs won't pee or poop where they sleep. Use a dog box, just a small one for a pup. Put him in the box overnight. And when you leave the house. Let him wine and cry. It will only hurt you to hear.😉
As soon as you wake up or get back home, Thane him out to pee. Tell him to "go potty" Be patient untill he does his duty in front of you. Then praise, "good potty"praise. Take his nose known to smell it, praise, praise.
Shepherds are very smart. This will train him up in 3 days or less if you are consistent. In less than a week, he will pee on command. If he has a slip or two just show him the mess and say " no" then grab him up and take him out until he "goes" then praise, praise.
Don't yell at, or hit your dog, ever. Positive reinforcement work best with this breed, they are very sensitive. You can hurt their felling with just the tone of your voice. You can correct them with a simple ”No!” or just say their name in a scolding tone of voice.
Good luck. Take him out to meet new people and dogs as much as you can. Don't leave your shoes laying around!😅😅
Congrats on your German Shepherd... you know they are the #rated dog for intelligence... very smart.
We have a 10-week old female puppy. Potty training has been hard but successful. She does her deed (both types) outside... we make sure we take her out at least once every 4 hours, and whenever she starts sniffing around inside, looking for a place to go.
She starts obedience training next week. She's great, a good and smart dog, and my SO and I love her. She has lots of toys to keep her busy. Like most puppies, she likes to chew, and we make sure she has her toys to chew.
Used to have one but he was pretty well trained by the time I came into his life. As far as dog training tips go, this guy knows his shit. Maybe it will help.
Had one, but he unfortunately had to be put down last year because of cancer.

I’ve had five German Shepherds so far. My favourite breed. I’ve trained a lot too. Lovin’ the wiggle image. Typical. lol
Yeah I'm watching over my brother's shephard again as he got covid
No, but it's on the list lol
It's my dream dog and my husband and I want to get one in 2023.

Cute puppy
Aw he is sooo cute no I don’t have one but my boyfriend does
Takes time and patience.
Can’t lock them up in a cage or leave them alone all day and expect them to potty train.
@ArtHelm I’ll send you the magic wand!
Someone needs to be with the dog and take them outside every couple of hours, Take for walks. Learn to read the dog to see if they need to go out.
Or if they need something else. If you pay attention to the animal it will tell you when it needs something.
If you can’t do this. Don’t have a dog nor have children!
I have trained up my own puppies srarting with a young 18 mo. Cocker, a 5, 1/2 week Brittany, for both potty to hunting, Another 8 week Lab/newfie and many others. I have studied wolf behavior.
You are no dog trainer, Surely. You are very simple. Don't tell people they need to hover over their puppies, dogs, or children to train them. You don't let them train you you idiot. You train them.
@ArtHelm So since I disagreed with you, I am wrong?
I have trained several dogs my way and they still got potty trained in a short time. I know that I wouldn't want to be put in a cage and have to hold my stuff until someone decides to leave me out.
I have learned to read an animal's ways. They tell you things their way. And no you don't have to hover over them 24/7.
I guess that I don't want to train animals in ways that I wouldn't want to be treated. Maybe I care too much!
To me, Beagles are the most mistreated animals. Lots of them are tied to a box in all sorts of weather and fed and watered when people get to them.
Like I said. I must care too much!
My mom had one. Amazing dog he was.
We had before
I wish
