Well look at this girl. She faced her hardships head on and never complained. She never had sex, got to go to school and graduate, never had a boyfriend, or got to date and have fun in life. It makes me feel ashamed for crying about the few things I complain about how life dealt me a blow or two. :(

I try to keep a perspective on my anger when possible, but I’m not without it. I totally understand what you are saying and yeah, it does make me feel kind of petty about some of my concerns. I suppose this form of relativism is how the term “first world problems” came into being. I’d probably go hide in a hole before I complain about how often I have to buy a new IPhone to always have the latest model. Lol.
That said I do get, however, that a problem can feel very real and painful even if it’s not as bad as someone else’s. I’m not sure about the IPhone, but i imagine other things like never having a partner can feel pretty bad.
In general, when I comes to complaining, I realize that it’s not realistic to grant only the person with the worst of everything the right to complain - imagine how hard it is to find someone like that. There always seems to be someone with a worse life somewhere. Secondly, nothing ever changes if people don’t complain or do something about it. I don’t believe in complacency. This tends to apply more broadly to social change, but the impulse to complain has its root in good things too.

I bitch about a lot in my life. A lot went VERY VERY wrong. I would not say the circumstances in my life were good, in fact really bad, and sad. However; NOTHING in comparison to what this girl had to go through. And yes; your question was a reality check for me. Another thing; our time on this earth is very limited; which should be a reminder to all of us that despite our circumstances, we must TRY to give ourselves the BEST life we possibly can before the end.

I mean I feel like I missed out on the sex life and marriage I was supposed to have in college but that's more or less it. Maybe the fact that I can't eat raw fruits and veggies. That one kinda sucks. Try eating healthy with THAT dietary restriction.

Other than that, I think life is going pretty freaking well, and I can only pay my respects to those who weren't given the same lot in life. Like I'm not sure I would have been able to work retail. And I worked food service for a day and quit. So like I have mad respect for people in these jobs. And I have mad respect for the girl posted here.

Good question. We always complain about something, we don't like what we have and we want more, we always blame ourselves or other people we see as the architects of our problems, always complaining that our problems are bigger. But we never give thanks, because we don't care about people other than ourselves those who suffer or have problems. I think we should be a little grateful. There are those who are worse off than us, those who have bigger problems than ours. We should always try to be humble and never be selfish or dark-hearted.

Almost every single day of my life. Nothing ever seems to work out when you have a learning, developmental, or physical disability. Even autism spectrum disorders have a casual link to certain vaxxines like the DTP vaxxine, but the media, medical, and pharmaceutical institutions go out of their way to silence and dismiss any data and evidence supporting it such as the flawed vaxxine scheduling that such reputable Health agencies like the CDC.

I do everything to catch myself in that moment and take a step back. Everything that has happened in my life and where I am now came from my decisions, ergo it is my choice to sulk and be upset or to be happy and grateful.

One thing I remember when I get to those thoughts is a song by Shaggy. Keeping it Real. The chorus goes: "No matter how you're sad and blue, there's always someone who has it worse than you. Sometimes you gotta pay your dues. So don't worry, just push on through."

Bottom line. Things can always be worse.

You can’t live your life by someone else’s standards. There’s always going to be someone worse off than you but that doesn’t mean your own troubles are invalid. It’s very toxic to act like because someone has it worse, you’re not entitled to feel any depth of emotion towards your own situation.

Here's the problem with your perspective imho- none of us were responsible for this woman's struggles. If anything, that video is a grim reminder of why I've found myself agreeing with antinatalists. We shouldn't look at situations like this and gaslight ourselves... if anything we should be shaming the parents. They typically put their deformed children on blast for the clout and media attention... I've seen it happen way too many times and it's pretty pathetic.

Just because someone has it "worse" does not mean your problems are not valid. You can't control what happens outside your sphere of influence. This is one of the biggest lessons I learned in the past few years.

Just be grateful for our lives…no one is perfect, everyone has their battles whether from birth, disorders, diseases, accidents, disasters, and the list goes on.

I was born with a disorder myself, I’ve been in and out of hospital stays most of my life, I've battled to gain wait because it’s extremely easy for me to lose weight where it becomes dangerous and I’ve had too many feeding tubes to count and I’m still grateful for my life and what it has become, because there are others that have it worse than you or I.

I too have faced a lot of unfairness growing up because of it, read my mytake if you want.

We as a society look down on people who are different, it’s disgusting and it’s unfortunate what her and so so many more souls have gone through.

I complain because I wish god had not given me such a pathetic life, I look like sloth from the Goonies, even my own family hated the way I look, the even abandoned me the moment I got my own place, I had what I thought were friends but the way they treated me my therapist says they weren't my friends.
I've never been shown love of any kind. Females love to lie and say it's not about appearance but confidence, well my life experience tells me otherwise, if you look like me confidence and personality don't mean anything when it comes to dating.
Life sucks and even as an ugly guy it's worse because no one cares about you at all.

There's something unfair and disrespectful about using that girl's tragic fate to shake a virtual stick at people who quite humanly give in to frustration and occasionally complain about their own circumstances.

It's as if, because you indulge in pitying her, rather than respecting her, that you want to blame people who gripe for making you feel that way.

In defense of the gripers, part of taking action to improve one's own situation does, necessarily, after all, involve a realistic assessment of the issues to be confronted. To give in to griping about the general circumstances thus revealed is not really a crime that deserves to be chastised in this manner and cannot in any way justify disturbing Adalia Rose's right to rest in peace.

heart wrenching to see anothers reality and how that all felt, but she did it with a warm spirit. I used that use that trick when I was down to think about how much worse off others have it, or it isn't as bad as I think. Helps to "right side"the mind.

donate a year to another... interesting thought in terms of community work... work 10 years, donate a year. I intend to get to more charity work this year.

That beauty queen who killed herself last month really put things into perspective for me. It's amazing to think that you can literally have THE life that everyone dreams of having, but still die of loneliness because you lack relationships with other people; the single most important thing in life.
