Hollywood leans pretty far Left, but former CEO Bob Iger is REALLY far left, and he's been kowtowing to the Left for a long time - hoping to run for political office as a Dem and for a time thinking that all of his financial support was going to get him the ambassadorship to China, which he planned to use as a step-stool into political office. Anyway, he is the one primarily responsible for bringing in far-left activist-types to Disney, in all divisions. That started more than a decade ago, but things started getting really bad 7-8 years ago.

Further, Kathleen Kennedy, who was essentially Steven Spielberg's assistant for 30 years, and thus had producer credits on a lot of big Spielberg movies, manipulated Speilberg into nominating her to run Lucasfilm when George decided he wanted to retire. She promised him that she would stick to his vision and protect his brand and characters, but she has absolutely no intention of doing so, because she was also a far-left activist. And with Iger in charge, she was protected and could do whatever she wanted. Under her "leadership", Star Wars was nearly destroyed completely. Star Wars underperformed so badly under KK that current CEO Bob Chapek (who was originally slated to take over fully just before COVID hit, which allowed Iger to rescind his retirement and stick around for several years) brought in actor and Iron Man director Jon Favreau to work with Dave Feloni (the guy who had been show-runner on the excellent Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series) to save Star Wars. The Mandalorian was the result, and it was the best thing to happen to Star Wars - and to Luke Skywalker - in more than a decade.

But KK continued to try to push her woke Star Wars, continuing to spend Disney money on abysmal projects that lost money. Chapek finally stripped KK of all authority over Star Wars, and essentially left her in charge of the one project she had long wanted to retire on: Indiana Jones. Of course, she screwed THAT up so badly that, after shooting for 8 weeks with an absolutely horrible, insulting script, even that was taken away and Indy had to be pushed back more than a year to allow for the script to be re-written and the movie started over from scratch.

Favreau and Feloni are doing their best, but so much of Hollywood is so far left that they are being undermined and sabotaged a lot. They'd brought in their friend Robert Rodriguez to run The Book Of Boba Fett, but he decided to scrap most of their direction and create his own, and being busy with other projects, Favreau didn't realize what had happened until half of the episodes had been shot. RR was fired, they had to pull in 2 episodes of The Mandalorian to replace terrible episodes of Boba Fett, and they had to do major reshoots on the Boba Fett finale. It still wasn't great (aside from the Mandalorian episodes), but it would have been much worse.

KK's "Star Wars Story Group" - all far-left activists, actively HATED Luke Skywalker and made it their mission to humiliate him in the sequel trilogy - which they did. They had these posters in their cubicles with Luke crossed out:

KK and the SG wanted everything to be female-led, and wanted Luke to be hated by fans. That was the reason for the green milk scene, among others.

Bob Chapek wants Disney to make money, but he knows he has to get Disney out of politics to do it, and there are so many activists in the company that he lacks the power to make those changes all at once - in fact, they're doing their best to get him fired.

Yeah. 7 8 and 9 are absolute trash, so, soooo bad, same with rogue one and the majority of other shit out there. Mandalorian was cool and han solo wasn’t bad either actually, and I like the filoni stuff, but for the most part they fucked it so hard and they definitely ruined the story. The origin story stuff okay, it was already written, but they totally shit on Luke in 7 8 and 9 and don’t understand the characters at all

The prequels are amazing and that’s the end of it. George Lucas’s universe is incredible but yeah the prequels are for actual nerds not regular people
