Author's Opinion:  ✨️🔫 "Guns do not scare me in the slightest  During infantry training while I was enlisted in the Marine Corps, I learned how to shoot a grenade launcher, pistol, M16 service rifle with 5.56mm rounds, shotgun, and a machine gun. I have my license to carry and I open carry in my state. I made this decision after being stalked home numerous times and almost being kidnapped. Guys comment on my weapon but give me a lot space when out in public. Best decision I ever made. People who sincerely believe that an inanimate object is capable of making decisions about its owner or use should seek professional mental health help immediately. No amount of casual conversation involving logic, reason or evidence is going to break through their propaganda fortified mental walls against the empirical facts of material reality.

Motor vehicle crashes account for a staggering number of deaths in the western world, do you propose to ban transportation? Drowning hits little kids particularly hard, do you propose to ban water? According to the most recently available FBI homicide statistics, bare hands are the most likely cause of homicide, do you propose mass amputation? If murder is in a person’s heart, they will find a way.
Guns are more scary to politicians than they should be to honorable people with good intentions.

I could absolutely date someone with the maturity level to take responsibility for their own safety and that of other people around them. The background check involved is confidence inspiring about their trustworthiness. Willingness to look at the real world with open eyes and acknowledge its imperfections implies a compatible attitude. Sharing a hobby activity is also a plus. The implications for political compatibility are also favorable.

You were in the Marines? Did you actually go into a war zone? Were you ever in a firefight? I'm not impressed with the variety of weapons you can pull the trigger on. I'd be impressed if you shot expert on any one of them or all of them. I'd be impressed if you had been in a war zone and had to kill or be killed. THAT is the only reason why you would NEED a weapon. Open carry is an open invitation to any meth head to try to take it from you. Concealed carry is far more effective since they don't know you can blow their head off.

If you want to know, yes, I have been in a combat zone on several occasions in Vietnam and surrounding countries during my duty as a search and rescue specialist. Yes, I have been in a firefight with the enemy and survived, yes, to my chagrin, I have had to kill another human being or be killed.

No, I do not have guns in my home, nor do I carry one when I'm mobile. I have never had one once I left the service and I've lived in NYC, Boston, Los Angeles, and a variety of other places that weren't very savory.

No, I've never had a reason to fear guns. Growing up I never saw them - not even the police carries, first time I saw them I was 9 and my face went 😲 - especially the queens guard and their rifles.

I will add that the few times I've been close to guns - I've been nervous, I know nothing about them, including gun safety and such, don't have the interest. With how clumsy I am, I'd end up crippling myself before hitting a target.

I my self not even my husbands guns included, after the boating accident... I own I think 37 fire arms. hand guns shot guns rifles. Guns are only dangerous if the idiot holding it was never given proper training.

yes.
i've been to the military, and my father and brother each carry a gun at all times, i know what they can do, and the fact that you can't just run away and be safe is a problem.(in case of an assault)
to be honest, an AR is less scary than a pistol. assuming that the owner has no malicious intent, they can still be careless or an accident may happen and it goes off. and the combination of how easy it can happen, the potential damage, and that there is virtually no way to stop it, makes it really bad. in contrast, if someone was in the same cenario with a knife, having an accident where someone loses their life is implausible.

About the only thing that scares me about guns is whether or not the one holding it is going to do something stupid.

I did OK for my first crack at the range in our town's Citizens Police Academy- just pulled a bit to the left as I "swept" the trigger rather than a straight "pull back". Still, nothing lower than the 7 ring, with a tight group.

Problem was that is was a.38 Glock and had some really full-load ammo on board. My shoulder was sore the next day !

Could I be with a gal who carries? Absolutely! She can help protect me. :- )

Note- My daughter has a BFF who is about the last person you would think would carry- but I was surprised that she does. File under "can't tell a book by its cover".

There are many ways to get trained properly to respect and master gun ownership other than military and law enforcement.
As an American you have an obligation and right under the 2nd amendment to arrest the power of government tyranny. This is the principle reason for the 2nd amendment.
All Americans should own guns and know how to respectfully keep them and use them. Whether you carry or not is as needed or desired.
Protect yourself, your property, your neighbors, and all American's rights by being a responsible gun owner.

No, they don't but I think upbringing may have a lot to do with it. Family always had them & so did friends (rural area). Recently began going through the concealed carry process myself. I'd love to have a girl that loved guns. Something we could both enjoy. I am VERY ornery & would use it as an excuse to teach her to "shoot" (requires me being very close & behind) & then maybe she can teach me how to shoot:) I think it would be a really fun date under the right context.

No, it's sometimes the morons who are carrying them around that scare me. I believe in the right to bear arms. But I also believe that there should be some type of litmus test to make sure someone is capable and responsible to do that. We issue driver licenses to qualified people. I think the same should hold for guns.

Guns have their place. I've never much use for them, but I don't care if other people have them. Guns are just instruments. Most people handle them sensibly while a few commit murder with them. If anything, people are to be feared, not the guns. Triggers don't pull themselves.
I'd hook up with a woman with a gun. As long as I don't give her a reason to shoot me, I'll be fine. Don't forget her birthday whatever you do.

Heading to the range/ranch with a wide variety of firearms can be a fun way to share/spend an afternoon or weekend.

Ohio just passed a no permit required concealed carry law. With our open carry law already, it makes ohio one of the best places to own a handgun. I may eventually get one.

Not at all, I own an AR-15 (That I built) and SKS, and plan on getting my Carry permit when I move.

And I would be fine dating a girl who owns or carries a gun. (But seeing as I own my own, itd be weird if I wouldn't)

For me, Firearms are needed for personal defense, and for more revolutionary reasons (I am far-left politically, and I do believe that political power does grow from the barrel of a gun)

I don't like guns. I just don't. I just think they're far more likely to cause problems than solve them. Having said that as a former member of the military I have more trust in you carrying a gun than a random stranger who has no military or law enforcement training.

I am not afraid of guns, I carry on a regular basis too. Yes I totally date a girl that carries a gun. I believe in concealed carry tho because if a crime is willing to take your gun or they target you first. With concealed carry you maintain the element of surprise. There are advantages to both types of carry.

I think more women should carry!! More power to ya! I have taught people how to shoot. Small stature women can shoot 9mm and other guns just fine! Single stack 9 mm pistols fit any hand. I am a veteran and have my share of guns.
