nope... I like spiders a lot and always have liked them, especially the tarantulas that we have in the region (Southern Texas)

although, last year I had an encounter with a very confident fake-Widow that challenged me and was not amused at all when I tried to evict her out of my backyard, that thing kept raising their front limbs and seemed ready to attack at any moment I got closer to

I was not scared but I was very respectful of it... lol

  Their webbing has been made into all sorts of things including bullet proof vests. They eat bugs that destroy crops (also ones that pollinate, but nothing is perfect) one spider can kill 400 mosquitos in a 24 period. I leave the mini ones that camp on the kitchen window as they let me know if ant scouts are about. They also clean up their messes into their webs. Some are petty cool little things. The mean ones get squashed.
