Do you ever just make up backstories to the people you see?

I do it started when I was 5 I found out that my dad was not my dad he was my step father. And from that moment on I started looking at people in different ways I would always wonder what I would look at a guy if he was my dad
And while I was doing this I could start to read people
I would listen to them talk I would watch and see how they treated other people and after a while you could just about tell who that person is and what they're all
about
And then after a while you could start feeling People's Energy and that would tell you in an instant who they were what they're all about and then you start understanding bad energy and good energy good people bad people positive negative and when you start putting it all together you start to feel people's so deep and all it would take is for somebody to say hello or say one word to you and you're locked into them you can feel that emotion you can feel that energy
And before you know it you can do it so well that you feel like you known that person for a long long time you can tell them the pain they've been through all the good and all the bad about them and before you know it all you have to do is look into somebody's eyes and you can tell them about themselves without even having one word or even knowing them and it goes even deeper from there

Sony invented the Walkman in 1981. After that we had the Discman, and then MP3 players, and now smartphones; part of me wonders what people did on trains before the 80's. Did they actually TALK to one another? Probably not; I suspect they just read newspapers. But when I took the train a lot, I'd make up stories about the people around me, as a way of passing the time. One day, someone asked me why I was staring at the man across from me, and, answering with total honesty (the way I do when I'm distracted), I said "I can't decide whether he's trying to sell nuclear secrets to the Aztecs or the Mongols".

She was, needless to say, baffled, and I explained what I was doing- "That guy, over there? He's planning on traveling back in time to assassinate Charlemagne. That woman with the magazine is actually seven coyotes in a VERY convincing disguise, trying to find where the humans are hiding their meat. The man in the blue shirt is a spy, trying to track down an escaped shapeshifting werewolf. That sort of thing."
Unusually, she apparently appreciated what I was doing, and played along: "What about him?" she asked.
"Batman" I replied.

We had an enjoyable rest of the ride together, but most people just look at you weirdly when you tell them that's what you're doing, so I don't bother.

I used to do that all the time as kid. I would write little stories in my head for random people I would see. I think I mostly did it when I was board though and I don’t do it very often anymore

Kinda. Sometimes in the parking lot outside of Walmart I would sit the vehicle with my son, and pretend that the people walking in and out of Walmart were celebrities.
Whoever they kinda looked like I would call it out to my son.
So I'd be like " Hey look, Emma Stone just bought a new area rug, and over there's Ben Affleck, he bought a shovel so maybe he killed somebody? " Lol.
