Should a teacher be fired for fat shaming a student Infront of the whole class?

You know, it's not JUST about fat shaming a student. It's about shaming ANY student for ANY reason in front of a class of students. That is what is wrong. Shaming a student NEVER accomplishes anything but anger and resentment. You've ruined YOUR relationship with the student and you've presented a poor example of what adult power can do to a child.

If this is an exceptional teacher in ALL other ways, I'd have them sent home and sent to counseling twice a week for a month at half pay. I'd also explain to the class that the teacher was wrong they are being retrained due to their error. I would apologize for their behavior and have the teacher apologize to the student AND to the class.

If this teacher were a problematic teacher in other areas also, I WOULD fire them. They don't understand compassion OR kindness.
