I have different kinds of nightmares all the time, most of them don’t phase me. Once I’m aware it’s a ridiculous such as supernatural shit , I just be like “alright hurry this up and kill me, i have a meeting at 10am at work, I know this a dream” kind of mindset. Thrown off buildings , snatched up by a monster, shot, stabbed, etc. it never really phases me and it’s just annoying because it’s so obvious and no longer original or scary so eh
My nightmares are real when they manifest themselves. They have to do with rescuing tunnel rats in the 'Nam.
Rescuing tunnel rats? Were you a medic who went in after them or something?
@Agagagagaga I was a search and rescue specialist for the U. S. Coast Guard and U. S. Marine Corp. I performed rescues wherever there was heavy hostile action, whenever a Navy, Marine, or Air Force pilot went down either on land or in the water. Tunnel rats sometimes ran into Vietcong that was hiding out and planning their next attack, and the fighting in those tunnels sometimes got hot and heavy. It was my job to locate them and pull the wounded out for chopper pickup or, in some cases, carry them through the jungle to my crew waiting on the shore with our boat.
So you’re a legitimate bad ass then. I’m in awe of how terrible the fighting in Vietnam was. I sometimes watch documentaries on Khe Sanh and the Ia Drang, Tet, it was just an awful war. I was in Iraq and it was sooooo tame compared to what Nam was for people. Still, it was war and I saw a fair amount of death.
@Agagagagaga War is hell. Clique? Perhaps, but whether you're in the middle of a jungle, a desert, or lying in a pile of snow when the bullets are flying around you, it is a bitch. Your ONLY thought is to stay alive, but you have a duty to do, regardless of how you feel about it at the moment. As for badass? I did what I was trained to do, just like you were.
That's equally terrifying, man. You lived it and relive it. I heard a lot of rat tunnel horror stories.

I had a nightmare 4 nights ago.
In the nightmare I was a deputy responding to a domestic call with a 5 year old boy witnessing the fight. My partner and I try to break apart the couple fighting but the kid grabbed a knife and stabbed my partner in the neck while my partner's hands were full. The mother broke out in applause while the father tried to help me resuscitate my partner. My partner codes and the father loses his shit and tries to attack the mother because he blames her for the kid getting the stabbing idea from a violent game the mother allowed the kid to play. I woke up before the nightmare continued.
After some bad shit happened to me as a little boy I had a few bad dreams.
And I used to feel an entities presence in my room, feel him breathing, and I could feel his breathing pattern in my chest and see his crispy/healthy pink lungs as he breathed. Chalked that up to a nightmare (even though I knew I was awake) until I felt his breathing in my chest again walking through a coffeeshop with a girlfriend when I was 24.
Other than that I have movie dreams. All the time. Color, texture, smell and taste. Very vivid.
In the military we'd sometimes go to where Malaria was a problem. Mefloquine was the prophylaxis of choice. It gave EVERYONE vivid dreams. One pill a week. To remind everyone to take it we called it "Mefloquine Monday". Others called it "movie night" because of the crazy dreams. Every Tuesday morning we'd all talk about what we dreamt. Some poor guys had horrible nightmares. I loved it.
Yeah
A night ago I had this dream where I was at a pool party. There was kinda this upstairs pool area in the same room and a bit of it overlapped the stairs to the pool bellow. I was leaning on the railing of the top pool and there were these kids aged 10-16, I think, that were playing around (Running around the pool playing tag on the pool deck, throwing toys out of the pool, and splashing water at each other causing some to spill out). One girl ran towards the railing to avoid being tagged but her younger sister who was the tagger followed her and accidentally pushed her more than she meant to and she fell over the railing. Her neck landed right on the handle bars for getting into the pool bellow and the rest of her body landed on the steps going into the water. Her body looked really messed and blood started spreading through the water. People were screaming and shit.
Yes, a stranger running behind me in hospital and I was with my cousin. He was trying to protect me as a tall guy. Then while running that stranger dragged my cousin. He was screaming. I went towards the direction he was dragged. There was a turn and when I turned my direction I saw that stranger holding a bloody knife. I woke up. This happened a month ago.
Yes. I had an awful nightmare last night.. and I hardly ever get those
I walked into a thick forest and suddenly jumped into a waterfall where I was drowning. It was so hazy and seems stupid, but I swear, everything seemed very realistic. It was so damn vivid and one of my friends I haven't spoken to in years appeared in that dream. It felt like I was in a video game.
The funny part here is, I used to be a competitive swimmer, so there isn't really any chance of me drowning irl, but it was effing crazy
Yes. Been reading more lately. It’s been triggering a lot of dreams. Never know when I’m dreaming though, they are so detailed in all senses.
Are you able to wake yourself up?
Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't.
Yeah fairly regularly. No huge ones lately
The bad ones are nightmares within nightmares.
have had them for years lol.
Oh, those are the worst. You escape one and find yourself in another that is somehow more terrifying than the other.
Keep a cross and holy water nearby and say a prayer before you fall asleep next time.. ask your guardian angel to protect you
Was tempted to do that after I woke up from it last night.
I used to have Sleep paralysis often and it helped
uhm yeah a few days ago. tw:
it was a dream where my mother died in it- i remember being horrified, scared and not knowing what to do. i woke up scared but then felt comfortable when i saw my mum in a good state
I have them at least once a week, hence... I don't make much of them really
I don’t get nightmares because even in my sleep, my spirit is worshiping and fellowshipping with God.
I swear I had one but I can't remember what it was about.
No i quit having them years ago since i always fight back in my dreams
Almost every night, for the last several years.
Yes... from 2016 to 2020... sometimes i still shutter when trump talks.
Yes but can’t remember them
