Yeah, when I was younger. I used to have these nightmares that a portal to hell or some dark dimension would open up at the base of the bed when I was sleeping and suck me in, and I couldn't scream because my vocal cords no longer worked and that it only happened in total darkness. Keep in mind, I was like seven when I had nightmares like this, and they were reoccurring, too. It took me YEARS to get over being afraid of the dark. I had to Batman that sh*t and face the fear head on, including spending hours in a pitch dark closet.

+1 yYup and I still kind of am. Most of the time I can walk around my house in the dark without any issues but sometimes usually if it's really late I'm too scared to go downstairs, if I have to go downstairs for some reason when I feel that way I have to turn on all the lights and when I turn the last one off I have to sprint to my bed and pull the blankets over me to feel safe lol. I know it's kind of childish and stupid but it only happens sometimes, usually if it's late and I'm alone at home or if I just watched or saw something scary. I was even worse as a kid though, I either had to sleep with the light on or I had to have someone stay with me in my room until i fell asleep.

+1 yI was but I also used to not be able to sleep without it being pitch black. So I'd shine my phone light around the room every few minutes until I fell asleep. Now I can't sleep unless my projector stars are on.

+1 yI don't think so, although, there WAS a point when the "Paul Is dead" rumour was spreading like wildfire that I got some screwy notion in my head that, if I didn't rush up the stairs to my room on the 3rd floor, he was gonna come racing out of my parents' room, right behind me, with a huge knife and try to stab me with it so, I'd always scramble up those stairs on all 4's as fast as I could! This went on for several months, if not a year, or so. I seem to recall it having something to do with "Revolution 9" which was SUPPOSED to have lots of hidden clues in it as to his death.

m +1 ynope, always loved and lived in the dark as much as possible, and still do...
my younger brother was, though... which made it very funny sometimes (for me, not for him... lol)23 Reply- +1 y
lol... in my defense, the majority of the times in which I would come out of the corner in the dark while he was about to turn was just coincidences... very few times I actually tried to scare him just to see him throw punches and kicks in the dark... lmao

+1 yPeople aren't afraid of the dark, they are afraid of disatvantage.
In the dark you can't see well, so other things actually worth fearing can sneak up on you.
In most cases people refer to being afraid of the dark as a kids thing, but if you go into the woods as an adult, and walk around like you're invincible, you'll get eaten by predators.
As a kid I didn't buy into boogie men or monsters, but I new being in the dark was more dangerous.10 Reply Night time the Dark actually relaxes me like at night outside look up in the sky there are tons of stars or when there's a full moon or a eclipse and when it's 4 of July the fire works:) or out on my boat fishing at night the shy is lit up with stars can be beautiful sometimes that's just how I always been sense I was a kid I love it Darkness lol!

+1 yNaw, but one time I was working as a security guard, walking around in a dark mechanical loft to check on some machines, and my walking by woke up a pigeon in a vent which freaked out and started slamming around, dropping feathers and screeching. Shared the hell out of me, thought for sure it was a fuckin Chupacabra or something.

10 Reply I was as a kid. So what i did was to go down in the basement, turn the lights off and sitt there. I would do that every day for a while. I did that with everything i was afraid of, i would face it head on till i could control the fear i had.
