What does it mean if someone says they "Went to Town"?

It means exactly what it sounds like it means.

It means someone is enjoying tasty food. "I went to town on that delicious cake!"

It means you are finally old enough for something you weren't old enough to do before.

I am not exactly sure what it means but I think it is probably something weird.

Obviously, it means someone is spending some private time alone by themselves.
