Would you trust your life to a robot?

No. A robot is metal and stronger than human flesh and bones. They can kill, overload, and take over the planet, and even if new models came out and people said "Their completely safe, don't worry they'll protect you" I still wouldn't believe it nor get one. I don't trust people, strangers, animals (depending on if their safe), and most definitely not robots that can move and have hands with eyes and a body. So, if I don't trust my life with people, I don't trust my life in the hands of robots. Maybe I watch too many movies and are paranoid, but that's just an opinion.
We already do for quite a few things. And Watson, IBM's medical AI, has already proven more effective at diagnosing cancers at an earlier stage than human doctors.
I don't think I'd trust the robot, but I'd be more likely to trust a human AND a robot than just a human.
No, not even if it somehow passed the Turing test.

Nope! XD

Last time someone trusted a robot... uuuuh

Very tricky Question lol seeing as we already have been trusting them lol.
.
However These new Human bots (like in i-robot)... might be the death of us and I don't know if i trust them🥴
.
Honestly it's becoming pretty scary at this point. We are too smart for our own good!
There are machines that can be programmed to do a single task and they do that many times better than humans and usually we trust those. However, there no robots that are multi-task like human and there will not be for many years. When and if such robots exist, I am sure that I will trust them as being more reliable than humans, provided I trust the companies that make and program them.
Robots can't even figure out that I want a docking pallet for my 2-way radios that I already have. They keep asking if I would like to buy new radios! No, I just want a spot for them on my dresser when not in use!
Robots need a lot of instructions before they can become truly useful.
While we have not quite got there yet, people already trust automation, which is part of robotics.
For example when we fly we trust the pilot, we’ll actually we are trusting the Inertial Nav system, the Autopilot system,
in hospital we trust the machines delivering drugs to our system, the life support systems we are wired up to.
now the entire could a robot make a life of death decision like a human could and would you trust it, then no.
Not if the robot had been programmed by the current global elite, whose agenda is to murder all but 500 million of the population of the planet.
Glad you know this to
Think about this how much do you trust politicians depending on who program the robot to a certain point I would still say no and then hulot's are going to start learning on their own and when that happens we are all fucked
Only to this one.

I don't put my life in the hands of anyone if I can avoid it. And if I can't avoid it the question is moot. It's not like I rather die than take my chances with the robot.
We already trust robotics. Most of the food you buy was packaged using computerized machines. At Walmart you can choose to scan and pay for your food instead of checking out using a live person, and you trust the scanning an charges are correct.
When robots become far more capable, they will do as they are programs, with many safety factors built in, and will be far more reliable than humans that are prone to mistakes and emotions.
We all trust our lives to robots all the time. Ever ridden an airplane? The autopilot and pilot assistance is something you trust your life to. Sure, it's not a robot straight out of star wars, but we all rely on robots that hace specific functions.
No. I barely trust my life to other humans; but during an emergency you really don't have a choice.
Unless you live in a cave you are already trusting your life to a robot. Robots built your house, built your car, packaged you food, your car is a robot, actually, and on..
No, as a human I still have issue with trust in humans with it
Machines require a precessional on standby
I would not trust a AI operated machine to do my surgery but I would trust man operated machine that has a technician fairly close by
No, I work in IT and know that most of the time these things don't work.
Depends on how far into the future we’re talking about. How advanced is the A. I within these robots?
Oh heck no I watch movies and I'm not gonna take the risk and have movies become a reality
You already do with the technology you use every day
Not in my life
No cars with computers. All my cars and trucks use carburetors and all made before 1984.
That goes for my tractors to
@humanearth ok so what about the smart phone you’re using right now that’s got all your personal information on it?
I never had a cellphone, I use a 20 year old desktop computer that uses Linux
The operating system and the age of the hardware makes no difference. Your personal data that you used to create this profile is available for companies to view, use and sell.
Nothing is personal on here. All my data is fake. That includes my IP and Mac address
Tesla cars elevators escalators vending machines I think we have been
Hell no. Planning to throw my phone in a lake still and live on an island alone.
You already do.
Most backroom services online are automated and quite a lot of government and healthcare is the same.
Are they bound by Asimov's law of robotics? Then yes. I would.
well the definition of Robot is a device that automatically performs complicated, often repetitive tasks. So technically, most people in first world countries do, every day.
I think humankind has no other choice.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/_EkMjTnWk14Lol over any human yes… hut Ide rather just protect my own life.
Trust it as much as a human and ya know how much I trust a human? well it's not a positive number.
yes, I do that every day... we all do, we just don't realize it
Assistance only for me. They do come in handy when supervised.
Like a self driving vehicle, oh hell no!
I'm right with you
If I can't even rely on Amazon's website services, why rely on entire robots?
No, because they are made by people, and people can make mistakes
As someone who just fired up Detroit: Become Human again... I wouldn't mind a small squad of AX400's (Kara) to look after my place.
Yeah I think I would if it's designed properly and has a high success rate like a pacemaker or those robotic assessed surgerys
No. The robot might go rouge and try to hurt me later.
Not likely, but increasingly, that's the reality. AI & robots are seeping into the fabric of our society. They already do myriad menial tasks, and more is coming!

I hope that answers your question.
I mean robot isn't really an android. We trust AI and automated machines every day so sure.
I don't trust automated machines, never had, never will
The ones with Human faceplates are intimidating to me and I think they have a much higher chance of becoming possessed so pretty much NO
A robot? No, an android? Yes, but it'd have to be very human-like. Pretty much indistinguishable from a person
Well let's just say I'm not driving a Tesla from the back seat anytime soon.
Depends on the situation, the robot, and the programming.
Technically yes. Since I really don't like people I would.
To be perfectly honest, Yes I would more so than a human to be honest.
I trust my life to a lot of machines that have a history of success. Depend on the robot I guess.
If their objective is to protect me and they're like a terminator, why wouldn't i? Id feel safer with a machine than a human. Logically speaking
Depends on what task. Would I trust a car a robot built, yep do it everyday. Would I trust a robot to drive me, not yet
You trust cars everyday. They are not totaly robot but mechanical and electrical human made machines. :)
Not really
No, I don't even trust it with tech support.
If it's R2D2 then yes.
as long as they follow Asimov's three laws, yes.
Do you have abs breaks?
No, no a thousand times no
Nope.
Not unless I have to.
I mean we already live in a simulation so why not?
Yes, better than politicians
I'd trust a robot rather than another human.
No. One malfunction and my ass is dead
