Should people die (be buried) naked, we're born that way, should we go out that way also?

Random question. A woman on social media wanted to be buried in a specific outfit, so this got me thinking lol. I mean, the dead are only dressed because nobody wants to see them naked. There's no other reason for it right?

Most people who are buried repose in their open caskets for the last viewing of the deceased and it would be embarrassing for most family members to have their mother or sister's body exposed nude to the public. What advantage is there in being buried nude?

Very true. Yeah at the time it was just a "technical" thought, and not advantages to it, but no purpose in being clothed either, except for the viewing lol

I can accommodate such a request, but the remains would have to be covered for any open casket viewing (with a blanket or sheet, for example). The covering would be removed before the casket is closed and locked.


What you probably don’t realize is that even if that’s what you want after death, it’s simply not your call. Your remains become property of the next of kin, and they have the right to overcall your request.

People are born naked as clothes are not a requirement for birth. But people die, and are buried respectfully in clothes, so that others may pay respects.

Serial killers leave naked corpses in shallow graves.

lol, it was only a passing thought that I admit didn't think much about. But my view was "technical" as well. Like you say, "not a requirement for birth", it's not for death either (because the body only decays), it's only for the benefit of the living. But doesn't that bring up an interesting point? Why is a baby nude "acceptable", but an adult in death not? Just because they're not a baby? Follow what I'm saying? Just looking at nudity in general. Granted, clothes are put on babies right away also.
