+1 yI used to be an ignorant kid. I’m from a largely conservative country where most folks are very religious and believe in “upholding” the culture.
I used to think only heterosexuality was normal and that people belonging to the LGBTQ+ community were “weird”. My view did a full 180 when I was around 15. I believed it because that is what everyone around me constantly kept telling me. Later, I got more exposure to the internet, met new people and about 3 of my friends are a part of the LGBTQ community, so now I STRONGLY support it.
I now know for a fact that they are NOT strange. They are people, just like me, who deserve respect. Their sexual orientation is not going to change how I view them.
I used to think my father was homophobic, turns out he isn’t. I was very happy about that. My mother and I often get into disagreements because of our largely different views on practically everything though… and yeah, she’s kind of homophobic.
I realize that my opinion might be controversial, but I still stand by it. Everyone deserves respect. Nobody deserves to be treated badly because of their sexual orientation.49 Reply- +1 y

+1 yWhen I was younger I used to hate gay people. And I mean hate. I was sort of brought up that way. My dad hated them, all my uncles hated them, and my mother didn't like them much either. But then I actually met some and lo and behold they turned out to be very nice people. So I gradually changed my view of them and grew out of all that stupid bigotry.
42 Reply- +1 y
Yay!! This makes me happy to hear!! I'm glad you broke through that line of thinking!
- +1 y
Me too kiddo. I felt better too once I nixed all that bigotry.
Entertaining the idea of dating/trusting a queer woman as a partner. I used to be far more open to "bi" females before I learned how disgusting, untrustworthy, and disrespectful they are to men. "Bi" doesn't really exist; they're just gay people who like to exploit the opposite gender and abuse them sometimes cause they're more convenient. There's probably a more detailed, nuanced way I could've said that, but I don't feel like explaining that much, right now.
I just basically don't believe homosexuals who call themselves "bi" can ever be genuine, trustworthy, or actually show true emotions to the opposite gender. They're gay-in-denial. They honestly creep me out and disgust me. Wish I didn't feel this way, but I've met too many of them to deny all the experiences I've seen.11 Reply- 1.9K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yI used to think that part of being mature and emotionally developed was learning to let go of things.
And that is important but now I'm realizing that the second part is you still need to move forward and make your next move/replace what was lost with something new and foreign. This stops you from becoming depressed and stale in life.
Always believe in yourself, and take on new things. Don't accept it everytime your life hits a snag, you owe it to yourself to get back on your feet and run to whatever it is you're pursuing.00 Reply - 4.7K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yAs a youngster I was fascinated about ''entrepreneurship''.
Meanwhile, I figured -for myself- that this is just personal vanity.
In 200 years from now no one would remember my ''achievements''.
As a less young youngster I believed in fairness in this world. I still practice it myself, but I dropped the idea that it's granted to myself in return.10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI used to be a democrat. After the SJW and #metoo, women empowerment movements and the riots during 2020, I realized democrats have become completely insane. Now they are trying to teach kids to change gender and use hormone blockers. The economy has gone to crap, inflation is skyrocketed, gas prices are ridiculous, people are demanding pronouns be specified, everyone is offended by everything, Crime and drugs are skyrocketing, and most of the politicians are lying hypocrites that only care about money. So I’ve decided that democrats have gone too far. I feel relief and happiness knowing im not part of that cult anymore.

1) The check is in the mail
2) I will pull out before I cum
3) I promise, I will never show your nudes to anyone ever, and
4) Don't worry, if you give me a blowjob it will be our secret

+1 yThat as a young girl, you are safest with close male family members, than the parents of close friends!
42 Reply- +1 y
@D4nielv No, the opposite! The question was “ What is an idea/belief that you once held, that now you've completely (or only somewhat) changed your mind about?” As in I once believed that I was safest with my uncle, than I was with the parents of my friend, so I allowed my uncle to drive me home, but he raped me! He continued raping me almost every week day until I had the courage to turn him in, and he was caught!
+1 yAbortion. When young I used to think it was just a way to correct ‘a mistake’. Then I was exposed to the reality and truth in a dozen people around me as I lived the true horrors through them.
Only one of them used it as a form of birth control, it honestly pissed me off.
The rest lost multiple planned pregnancies that are still cherished and considered their children. They all would have died without the procedure. Abortion is extremely misunderstood.00 ReplyThat not all women are sluts.
After my experience with dating I found out that ALL women are sluts. Its just there are a lot that hide it and won't admit it, due to wanting to be seen/feel with having respect and will go to extreme lengths to even lie about it. Then a lot of them own up to it and don't care, in fact it even turns them on. Then there are the girls who can't act out their urges because they aren't that good looking/dont have a choice.
That's what changed00 Reply

+1 yI grew up in a very religious household, and at a younger age I was told that being gay was wrong and a sin. As I got older I realized that its wrong to hate someone just because they were gay, or trans or whatever. As long as that person is happy with who they are that is ok for everyone, and they shouldn't be judged for it. God made us who we are, and if thats who you are then thats who you should be.

Precisely. I know pretty strong evidences. I've not convinced myself that it is a slam dunk though due to the high opposing scientific consensus.

Care to share with the class?
- +1 y
Well what do you want to know?
- +1 y
I would be happy to. Basically, in order to have any macro Evolution happen you have to have the creation of new proteins. And the chances of any single protein naturally evolving are so infinitesimal that even if we postulate that every single living cell that ever existed had a random mutation in there proteins, not one single new protein would have been created in the past four and a half billion years.

Well, Grondie my brother, I'm not that "high level". What convinced me was the virus argument. Virus go through a gazillion mutations in a small period of time. We have viruses available now from "millions of years ago". Not ONE has been changed from virus to something other than a virus. (Ik it is low level and has a lot less gibberish but yeah that's what made me question it).
- +1 y
Yeah. Hence I believe macro evolution was "sneaked in" with natural adaptation and mutation by scientists to make it seem like that's the larger state of affairs. Like parents give broccoli to kids covered in cheese.
- +1 y
Yeah. I've just asked evolution supporters basic questions but as soon as I make it about "macro evolution", they get pissed. Like REAL mad. (Some are even freaking educated in this field and my questions are so basic often, but you can literally see them speaking gibberish or changing the subject or package both as one and try to sell me both).
- +1 y
Often, yes. But yeah it just shows their position is weak. I would be mad if my position was weak too. So I understand to an extent 😅
- +1 y
Well it shows that at least, they can't defend it nor offer even a relatively good response.
