Is it possible to be a pro gun-pro choice, republican?

the original meaning for pro-choice had restrictions once the pregnancy went past the first trimester. so if the female wanted to opt out of parenthood on her own choice she could up to that point. after that it went to safe, legal, rare being the only real options to abort a pregnancy.

the modern left has sense corrupted the idea of pro-choice to be more like. the original meaning of pro-abortion which was the ability to abort up to the moment of birth.

originally 2A was setup when the average gun owner could only get a single shot rifle and/or pistil. however with the general publics ability to own guns it limited both foreign and domestic sources from control them by force.

in modern times the average gun owner doesn't really need a semi-auto or full auto gun regardless of it's size for personal use. which are used in many of the mass shootings a crossed America.

so limiting those types of guns to current military, former military, current law enforcement and former law enforcement. for personal use provided they had a clean service record and knowledge on how to handle them correctly somewhat makes sense.

but trying to take away or limit all guns will likely turn into a modern civil war.

Right. I'm totally for the 2nd amendment. That's a right but, things have changed since the constitution was written and people on the right, don't understand the 2nd amendment

but ya limiting semi-auto and full-auto guns from being sold to the general public could possible. reduce the amount of people getting killed by those types of guns to some degree. however there are still a large amount already sold through legal and illegal means.

ok it seems my idea of that semi-auto gun were is wrong. got them confused with guns that can fire off a burst of rounds from a single trigger pull. also full-auto guns are not typically sold to the public as it stands either. so I'll need to rethink my statement now for the future.

Sure, though libertarian might be more accurate, generally Republicans do gobble up that block. You won't get "kicked out" of the Republican party for disagreeing with some of its viewpoints, even a key one.

Democrats tend to be more copy paste and exclude if you don't line up on all their views though. Like anything else, some people will be extremely pumped and agree with everything, most people just find one or two things and disagree with something. At least that's me.

Then again I liked the way things were going under both Trump and Obama. Too young to remember Clinton, but W was a shit-show. I only remember he promised to raise military pay if re-elected, so I voted for him in boot camp, he did that. Only other memories are of him fumbling every other ball.

Perspectives change, as yours probably has to consider switching parties. When at war and in the military, you want someone who will throw more money and people at that. Generally it's a good thing when momentum is going in a direction that will, you know, be more likely to keep you alive. Until he fumbled the ball on Fallujah twice. Yes, it's possible. People are not all so black-and-white. I am not a Republican at all (or Democrat), but I am very much pro-gun, pro-choice, and just for freedom in general. Someone once tried to say I'm a Libertarian, but Libertarians annoy me. They just want corporations and wealth to replace actual government.

If you are unwilling to completely buy into the ideology sure. The same goes for the other side. A big issue is that people on both sides is that they get so wrapped up on their parties ideology that they stop thinking for themselves. Because their party ideology starts thinking for them. Due to this they become nothing more then political lemmings.

I'm pro gun and pro choice, but I'm a dem. The thing is though is, it seems like republicans right now, don't seem to understand the 2nd amendment. They never have, actually

I tend to land in the middle of both on a lot of issues. Also the views on abortion on the right is why I'm a independent. The views on the left when it comes to firearms is why I'm independent as well. Simply because both sides think that you can acutely legislate something away. Despite our own history repeatedly showing that we can't. Many people on the right think abortions can simply be legislated away. Many people on the left think that you can legislate gun's away.

But everything from several states attempting to legislate cigarettes away in the 1920's to prohibition and the continued war on drugs has proven that you can't. Despite this both parties are quick to ignore this and push forward with the idea that something can be legislated away.

For example we already have a large illegal gun trade in the US. That black market is part of the overall global illegal gun market. The more people attempt to legislate guns away the more people will buy firearms from the illegal market. That in turn will make the illegal market to become more lucrative and grow in size. We all ready seen the same thing play out once the war on drugs started in the 70's.

Also even when abortion was illegal there where illegal abortion clinics popping up and doctors where still preforming abortions. That and you better believe there where people without any medical training offering fly by night abortions. Abortions that ended up killings the majority of women and their child that attempted going this route. Then you have to think about the women that attempted a abortion on their own or simply committed suicide.

So really it comes down to us with both and the only thing we can hope to do is minimize the impact. Because of legislating something away and enacting strict enforcement programs worked, the war on drugs would have been won years ago.
