Yes, I grew up near the sea and have been swimming since I was two years old

Nah I can't but I go to the pool and beach all the time 😂
I can swim, freestyle, backstroke are my ways to go. Ironically enough I suck at the breaststroke. I like to go from one side to the other without coming up for air. As long as you can keep afloat I don't think you need a technique. Just keep floating <3
I can swim. I'm not a good swimmer though. I would not want to be stuck a half mile off shore and have to swim to shore to survive. I wouldn't make it.
A LOT of people can't swim. It doesn't happen naturally. If someone doesn't have any place to learn, or anyone to teach them, they won't know how to swim. Not everyone has a pool available to them. The vast majority of the population live in cities now, so there are probably no rivers or lakes nearby.
I can swim but I am not all that good at it. I have very little body fat 14% so I don't float well. I do love to swim however. I wish I had more opportunity to swim.
Side note :
Their - is possessive of. "Their grammar is just a little bit off"
They're - contraction of They are. "They're always correcting my grammar like a grammar Nazi"
There - a place. easy to remember this spelling by trading the W in where with T "There is a mistake in this sentence but I can't quite figure it out"
And I think you meant to say "there are" which, if I am correct is no contraction for.
I have been lovingly corrected over the years by well meaning people and I am grateful for it. Like to pass it along with just the same love.
i can swim, i guess it has to do with where you are brought up and social circumstances. if your parents didn't have much money or were not into swimming themselves, then it would be harder for them to learn.
like most things its mainly down to money or location. when kids want to do football, scouts, karate etc where does the parent draw the line and the cost of all the activities
I'm a professional water sports guide (including coasteering), so yes, I can swim.
Pretty much all British people learn to swim from an early age, and it's actually part of the primary school curriculum these days. The exception are those of Indian / Pakistani / Bangladeshi descent, the vast majority of whom cannot swim. It seems to be a cultural thing, as Indians in India also very rarely swim, and those groups are far less likely to participate in other sports as well.
I can't swim because I can't float; I just sink to the bottom every time. I have no buoyancy at all, plus I'm actually afraid of water and can't stand being wet. Why do you find it "fascinating" that people like me exist?
Yes I leant swimming somewhat recently but I can't swim for even 1 min straight. I don't know how to bring up head while swimming so I get tired easily.
Yes, I've been swimming all my life, and I spent a year living half a block from the beach and spent 5-6 days a week in the ocean.
As for me I live by the ocean, I can swim & growing up I lived by a lake & I learned how to swim after my father threw my ass in.
Lol I can't swim but that's because I never got the chance to. I've never even been near a swimming pool.
I can't swim because I've never learned how to. However this is something that I'm planning on doing soon.
I learnt in my childhood but I guess I forgot I jumped into a river I drowned then I was surprised that I could not

I can relate, too.
No. Swimming is for rich people who grew up with pools or easy access to the beach. Poor people can't access large bodies of water to learn how to swim. The same way they don't have cars by the time they're 16.
I know plenty of non-rich people who can swim just fine.
Just enrolled into classes. Can't swim still but I'm not afraid, so I'll get there. Hopefully.
yeah. it's very rare for people not to be able to swim where i live. even though we don't even have so many shore lines or bodies of water xD
Yes, I've lived on a lake most of my life, and had swimming lessons when I was young
Why do you find it strange for people who can't?
Some people don't like water, others don't have time to learn to swim.
most people around here can swim as we have a lot of lakes and they tend to learn when there younger
Yes, i love swimming..
i am a state level swimmer i have a gold medal.
I can, not for too long, and probably embarrassing swimming style
Thanks for like!
Yeah I can move through the water using my arms and legs. That’s swimming right?
Yes I’m a good swimmer and there’s a Greek girl that wants to challenge me to a swimming race I can beat her When she comes to America
When I first went into the military I was amazed how many blacks can't swim. I watched the enlisted recruits having to do their qualifications and the blacks damn near drowned regularly.
I had to learn as the only alternative after those do gooding Green Peace people 'returned' me to the ocean was sink.
Living on the coast, it was very rare to meet someone who couldn’t swim. We all learned as kids
Of course, grew up around the water
Yep. The beach is close enough.
I can but not great but I can get myself to safety
I float and move around. 😭😭😭
I can but not stronger swimmer
When I was a kid I was a fish
I can but I'm a landlover. Don't like the water.
I love swimming
Yup.
Yeah I'm a ok swimmer
If I had gills i would swim and wings I would fly
I swim good.
Yes, it’s fun
Yes I can swim
Yep I love swimming
Black people can't swim.
That's racist.
@Blackcosmo are you black?
What? Is something wrong with me disliking your racist comment? I don't see how wether I'm black matters. Black people are humans just like you. The only thing that makes black people different is the amount of melanin in their skin.
@Blackcosmo look up black people can't swim on youtube
You spoke about black people not being able to swim in general. That's a false statement. Maybe a higher percentage of black people can't swim but that's just a mere coincidence.
@Blackcosmo higher percentage of black people can't swim that's why I mentioned them
It's a coincidence and you were talking about all black people.
@Blackcosmo still it doesn't change the fact that it's more than the other races.
That doesn't matter. "Black" people can still swim. You basically said not a single black person has or or ever will be able to swim. It was like you said black people don't have the ability to swim.
@Blackcosmo ok... most black people can't swim*
Ok. That's better wording. But black people were never the subject here. It's about each individual sharing if they can swim or not.
@Blackcosmo sigh...
Just pointing that out.
Yes I can
