The last time I had that done, a young, gung-ho salesman tried to sell me a $60,000 truck. I told him I was very happy with my little car. He asked If I would at least go for a ride in it. I told him that would be awesome, and just drop me off at breakfast joint up the road. Best Denver omelette I ever had.

+1 yThe company I go to usually drives me to where I need to go if service is longer than 2 hrs. I never wait. If it's less, I typically grab a coffee a few shops down.

Yes of course unless it’s a six hour job then I go to Panera to get a sandwich but anyway I don’t recommend going to mechanic alone as a woman because they are not very good people. They like to rip off women I’ve heard this so many times and from this old Swedish lady

The reason why I wait at times is that car dealerships, gas station and garage repair shops take advantage of us women thinking that they are able to get away with lying to majority of women that they replaced the broken part or took care of the problem. I asked to see the old part that they replaced, funny how they thought I wouldn't know the difference. Before computers were put into our vehicle's years ago, I would help my older brother work on my parent's cars. So, I knew enough to question the service station mechanics and dealerships. I often knew what was wrong with my cars, so I would go in knowing what the heck I was talking about. I started taking my car to family friend's repair shop, knowing full well they would do what needed to be done. Sure, I had to wait on occasion at least I knew they wouldn't lie to me.

+1 yI used to drop the car off early in the morning, on my way to work, a co-worker picked me up and the dropped me off in the afternoon to pick the car up. Since working from home during the pandemic, I now usually wait for the car.
00 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Other topic. This is why you always ask what the wait time is and what the service time is.
If I leave one of my cars for a service or something, then I will get someone to pick me up in one of the others, rather than wait.00 Reply- 8.7K opinions shared on Other topic.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yUsually, I'd wait. I used watch nearby so I can learn a bit. But nowadays, shops have gotten strict about watching the mechanics work on my vehicles, making it difficult for me to view what's being done. Since, their waiting areas are usually dirty, I'd rather leave and return later on.
10 Reply411 opinions shared on Other topic. I usually take care of my own repairs and maintenance. But when I do take one of the cars to the shop, I just drop it off and go home and grab another one.

+1 yBefore I got a mobile mechanic I used to wait for my vehicles to be serviced. Now the mechanic comes to me. I can be swimming in my pool or working at a customer's house while my vehicle is being worked on.
