Are those the carburetors that have the round filters on top from all those classic cars that they stopped making
Sorry to break it to you big they are still making carburetors. But not for today's cars, unless you modify the engine to take one
Well yea but they aren't so outdated tho
Easier to fix then a Electronic Fuel Injection
I don't doubt it
Yes can tear it down and put it back together.
Same
Carburetor maybe?
Got the rebuild them on my motorcycle and NOT looking forward to it.
I don't know, so does that mean I'm not old?

Well I don't drive so I shouldn't know, but I am old and I do know, it's a carburettor.
It is a carburetor but I don't think they have been gone all that long.
They still make them for cars
Antique store owner: "can I help you find something, sir?"
@humanearth : "no thanks. I'm just looking for inspiration for another GAG post."
Lol true so true
Looks like some kind of an engine, is it a leaf blower?
A carburetor. I used to play with them and a screwdriver when it was cold out. 'Replaced' by EFI, which my first sportscar had.
I am sure I have seen this, now I am unable to recall though
Holley double barrel shot gun lol
In high school auto shop, we use to rebuild them then take them to the dyno shop and a few went to our track Cajon Speedway and Barrona both were where I watched Jimmy Johnson learn he was 6 years younger than me. Those Saturday nights were fantastic stock, mini stock, open wheeled modified, midgets, followed by train race or boat trailers they even had motorhomes one time 😂
I miss them days to, I bet you would love to play in my shed. It is full of old engines from the past.
My oldest is a straight 8 olds from a 1928 runabout. Yes it still runs to. We use the engine to drive the belt system in the 1919 haybine and bailer
It's a carburetor. There are still cars around that have carburetors
Yeah, I own 10 cars that have a carburetor and none that are fuel injection.
That’s a nice old Holly carburetor
That going on my truck with the 460 big block
I used to have one on my 350 Chevy motor in my 1980 Camaro z28 but it didn’t work as well as the Rochester carburetor from the factory
Well this holly is only temporarily, I'm sending out the org one to be professionally remanufactured. The Ford Motorcraft 4 barrel with manual choke
O be still my heart please share a before and after I bet it looks brand new!
@josephinelcajon i forgot to take a before photo. Its all packed up and waiting to get to the shop
Yeah it seems the factory one is usually the best, nice it’s getting rebuilt
It looks a bit like a carb.
