Are these dogs scary to you?

Yep.
Pretty much any big dog without a leash on is intimidating to me, as I'd fear getting attacked.
I'm not saying they're necessarily bad or something, I think that's mostly due to how they're trained and I don't think there's much doubt that a big dog is capable of doing some damage to a human.
This basically. That's a logical and rational fear. I just to be friends with a bullmastiff (it died of old age) but the difference is it was my friend's family dog and I had already socialized it since it was a puppy and over the years. The dog grew up seeing me and so I was like a family member. That was the only single big dog I wasn't scared of, even without a leash.
It's way different vs a random big dog I don't know.
Yeah, it's different when you raise it, but when you introduce it to someone when it's grown up, it's a massive gamble. I'm short and slim (muscular) too, so it could definitely do some damage to me.
Little puppies. Treat them right with love. The will protect with love. I grew up with dogs some German shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, Simone, poodles, black Labrador. Best dog I ever had was the German Shepherd and the black lab. The black lab would surprise you. We had him when my children were growing. He would stand between you and me and would not let me get any closer until he knew you better.
I guess I can't get over this particular woman's death:

She was killed by that very same breed.
I don't like the look of them but I do not find them scary. I have a German Shepherd and plenty of people keep away when I am walking him. That the only way he would kill anybody is by licking them to death if they don't play with him is irrelevant.

They're big, strong dogs, but not scary, unless you invade their territory or threaten them or their masters.
In general no.
if they were charging straight at me then probably.
Nope, look like corsos and pitties
Dogs like this are intimidating, for sure.
They scare the crap out of me.
In person, they would be intimidating.
Tell me about it. They look tough and mean looking. I can't get over that it was that breed responsible for this woman's death:

I want one
Aren't you scared of them? That breed killed a young woman long ago:

Have you ever seen them on crack? In my hood, they put them on crack and they are like 10x more vicious, I want one not to put it on crack but they will defend the house, it all depends on how you treat them, after all its an animal
