Do you think pitbulls are scary?

I love pitbulls they are cute and good dog protectors. I have one he's a mix and he's so sweet and kind I know some people have a different pov (point of view) of them.

I am not afraid of pit bulls. Once I was at Walmart and someone tied up their pit bull. I am totally a cat person and have never owned a dog not will I ever. Anyway, I was with my husband and I walked over to the dog and her/she rolled over to present it's belly. I gave that dog belly rubs. Everyone was looking at me with strange looks. In my neighborhood, we have quite a few homes who own pit bulls. The vast majority of owners after black and their homes are covered with cameras. These people come across as wanna-be thugs. One man had two pits and one got out and attacked a small dog and it's owner while walking. Many insurance companies that offer homeowners insurance either to not insure homes with pits or their riders are so expensive no one can afford it. A couple of months ago a child was walking to the bus stop was attacked by 2 pit bulls. The child needed 50 stitches. In Virginia, the dog owners whose dogs have been attacked are usually euthanized. If the owner refuses and chooses to keep the dog they are required to carry high amounts of coverage.

I love them, they are extremely sweet dogs if raised and treated correctly. The breed has a reputation to be aggressive however so I'm usually a bit more careful around them.

Who? This guy? Big softie, lmao. He’s a mix but half pit, and he’s so damn emotional, hahaha. We play fight and I let him bite hand and arm, he never clamps down, I’ve known him since he was a puppy. If his owners, especially the male one, even leave for more than like 15 minutes he just gets mopey and eventually starts howling. Softest dog ever😝

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, pit bulls are responsible for twice as many fatal attacks as all other breeds combined. Seems pretty clear why people are afraid of pit bulls. They are "sweet and kind" to their owners, but once they get triggered they tend to kill people, a lot.

They can be. it's not so much the breed of dog it's more to do with how well trained and socialized they are. If you train and socialize them when they're young the chances of them attacking another person or animal are slim to none.

Pitbulls have gotten a bad rap. Too many people train them to fight, which makes them scary. One of our neighbors has a Pitbull and it's very docile, gets along with our German Shepherd very well.

It's all on how they are trained by their owners, we had a mixed breed that looked like boxer/ pitbull/ Golden Retriever we saved her life, she was chained to a tree and her name was Goldie but we saved her life and we took her on as a pet.

@hennessy_a Goldie lived for 8 years with us before she passed but she loved us but she didn't like people if they were strangers to harm us also my cousins own 2 Pitbulls and they have little kids the oldest is like age 16 his name is Vaughn, Amir he's age 3, Mackaylynn she's age 9 all the Pitbulls are good with all of them.

Any dog that wants to attack me is scary. As long as a pit bull is chill I don’t think they are scary.

They raise them by beating to fight in the dark, the animal becomes extremely aggressive so it has a bad reputation so actually if you lock a human in a dark place and beat it then it will become aggressive when it comes out.

No. I think they look "dumb" but i don't have problems with it. I mean I can imagine them talking funnily like those innocent cartoony ogre like characters with big muscles who can't speak correct grammar. They can be scary tho.

Whenever I encounter an unfriendly or scary pitbull, I try to gauge to personality of the pitbull's owner. Usually, the owner is a shady dude.

They are a vicious breed as classified by insurance. Finding a property to rent will be difficult as renter insurance does not cover Vicious Breeds.
