Is it surprising I'm a childless 29 year-old latina woman?

I'm still childless at the age of 29. I just didn't realize time would go by so fast.

I've been spending my years on education, playing video games, traveling to places, going on cruises, etc. I just though I never wanted kids. I do admit telling a past ex boyfriend ''If you ever get me pregnant, I'm solving the issue faster. I believe in modern medicine and procedures, not god nor religion.'' I used to tell a close friend that it would be great if I never got pregnant ever.

Fast-foward to present time:

Here I am and now it's different. It's been nearly 6 months that I've been having baby fever. I can't believe I said all those things. Are you surprised I'm childless?

Well I still remain an atheist. That hasn't changed but I don't believe in terminating a pregnancy anymore. I didn't think I would want a child eventually. For the longest I thought I had no maternal urges at all.

studies show ideal age range for the average healthy female to naturally have children is roughly 16-35 for her first and up to 45 for each after her first. however with medical help females are able to have children later then that.

so your body is likely telling you it's about to close up shop causing your hormones to kick into high gear.

ideally couples should date for roughly 5+ years before getting married or starting a family. so they have time to bond and do fun couples things before having no time to.

5+ years would be too much for me by now. I would be 34-35 years by then. I've been having baby fever for the past 5 months. I had a change of heart suddenly.

I'm not surprised that you're childless, but that's not because of anything you've said/thought over the years. I'm not surprised because you simply haven't been living in a way that would lead you to having children.

Why would you have? You didn't want kids back then.

Several family members couldn't understand my refusal to have kids back then. Now that I want kids, I realize I have to become more organized. I've been living a carefree lifestyle for too long.

Yup, that sounds about right. You have to live with the intention to make things like that happen in a healthy and productive way.

I live in Texas where there is a very high Mexican population. In the years that I have been living in this region I think I may have met 1 or 2 Latina women under 25 that do not have kids ;the rest of them are usually pregnant by 20 or so.

Sounds like a good idea but now I really have baby fever. I said too much back then. I didn't think I would ever change my mind.

I still look younger than my age. I've always looked younger due to being an active person and not liking to stay at home 24/7.
I'm working on getting my current situation fixed. I do admit to being disorganized (my room is a mess sometimes, lol) most of my life and it's only been a year since learning how to cook. I've been learning (still do) through Google and youtube. I knew nothing before. I've been living the ''living in the moment'' lifestyle. I have to get back on track.

I've been living on my own for the longest and do work. I need to get back on track in not leaving things for the last moment, being more organized in the house, not wasting money on worthless things and throw away things I don't need anymore. My house is kind of messy.

You sound like one with vision and plan. I doubt your residence is messy. Hoarding is messy…clutter (before rats 🐀 nest state) is sort of regular. 🙃

Several people still think we reproduce faster and are generally already into traditional roles from a younger age. So when they come across me, I'm like a weird woman to them.

Everyone can have one kid and half the world population in a generation. Why is this so difficult for everyone to understand and abide by?

yeah they probably are more focused on having a traditional lifestyle and were more family oriented early on. I've been very disorganized and was used to living a carefree, at the moment lifestyle.

yes. very family orientated in Central Texas. 29 is still young. i had my first kid at 27 and last 9 days before i turned 40. no pressure.

It's not surprising. Most of my friends had kids after 30. Things change when you realize that time is running out.

Women tend to get baby fever by seeing their female friends and family members become mothers. It’s weird but from what I’m observed women tend to have this mindset of following any group of women who are all doing the same or thinking the same.

I actually started having fever baby after a dream. In my dream, I was a mother and was getting chased down the hallways by some lunatics. Then they got me and snatched my baby boy from me. Then they I was trying to catch up to them, my baby was screaming. Lastly they got my baby and threw on the cliff, he fell on the river and drowned.
I was crying and screaming so loud. Then I woke from that horrible dream and suddenly found myself crying for real. Ever since then, I was never the same again. Hence the baby fever.
