It aggravates me especially when colleges use it
"The" Ohio state university ☠️
Like who names a college that I don't understand lol
I grew up in Ohio and it always got to me but "the" in any other context is fine.

  @JohnK123 there are other colleges that have the in the name like penn state is really the Pennsylvania state university but they never say that its just penn state. Ohio does it a lot so much so that it's added to the acronym lol

  The college I went to for my undergraduate degree tried to add "The" to the name in an attempt to distinguish it from other colleges using the same name (its a private religious affiliated school, using a religious name, so fairly common). The student body, lead by my roommate, protested the change and successfully killed it.
