What do you think about the new therian culture?

As a culture, I think of it as some kind of tribal movement with a spiritual twist, fulfilling some kind of existential needs? I haven't faced any member in person, just talked to one guy on the internet, he was really struggling with life, and people. Which made me think that this identity helped him to cope with, even to socialize, in a way.
