Do you support childrens' lemonade stands?

I don't know if this is a pretty common thing in other countries, but in the United States it's not uncommon to see enterprising children selling lemonade in front of their houses (or other locations) during the Summer. Neighborhood watch pages on social media often publicize their locations so good-hearted people (and often a lot of police, fire, EMS) can find them and buy from them.

They're not very common any more. Kids are too busy inside playing video games, and parents today seem to buy whatever their kids want. If I see one, I will buy a cup of lemonade... I think it's good to teach kids initiative.

When I was young, my friends and I often had a lemonade stand and people in the neighborhood would buy cups of lemonade from us. It's how we got enough money to buy games and go to the movies.

There are cases today where kids' lemonade stands get shutdown because they don't have a permit... which, IMHO, is ridiculous.

They're still very common here on warm days. A few years ago my city amended the ordinance so that lemonade stands, bake sales, most fund raisers would be exempted from the city's requirement to have a tax identification number, a permit, and an insurance binder as long as they're temporary and supervised (meaning an adult or older sibling needs to be close by). This tradition goes way back. But yeah, I've heard of kids getting hassled for selling without a permit, just not here.

Of course I always admire kids with the capitalist spirit.

And buying lemonade from their stands helps show them that hard work pays off. And that’s a great lesson for kids to learn. Never know what kind of impact you’ll make.

Absolutely, My younger sister and I both had one during the summer growing up. I'm quite a bit older than here. I had mine first and she had her's like 5 years after I had mine. Mom was always in the trees watching us, just to keep us safe.

Not really a thing here due to the lack of lemon trees. I'd support the idea if it was the kids doing it and not the parents behind it pretending it's the kids.
Now we've plenty of apple trees here so Why's no children selling cider.

Lemonade here more often than not is made from frozen concentrate rather than fresh squeezed lemons. It's still good and refreshing on a warm day. Don't know of any kids' lemonade stands where the kids fronted for the kids, but I guess it can happen. Cider is pretty popular in neighboring Missouri, especially in the Ozarks, usually spiked with something alcoholic and sold by adults to adults.

Lemonade stands are pretty common in my area, and most adults support them. Then in middle school and high school bake sales become popular: selling cupcakes, cookies, and brownies to make money for something like a school sports team. A lot of times kids here open stands and sell lemonade to raise money for a cause. A family asked if their kids could set up a lemonade stand in the funeral home foyer and sell lemonade during a 6-8 pm visitation; it was to raise money for a memorial (donation) to a local animal rescue charity in the deceased's name. Fine by me. We put a bowl for cash donations on the stand since some didn't want the lemonade but were willing to kick in a few bucks for the cause on their way out, or they bought the lemonade and threw in extra. The stand got busy and I called in reinforcements (husband) to help peddle cold lemonade. They sold out, and raised almost $800.

Always. Love to see it. Some kids were selling it outside of my gym last year, and I was on the way in and didn’t want to drink a million grams of sugar before a workout, lmao, but I gave them a “donation” of the price of a cup.

Will NOT support one that's just along the road. Too many possible issues there.

Some kids tried to sell me lemonade one day but they didn't have a stand. It's not really a thing in the UK. I don't remember buying any.
