How about you forever young people of GAG?
😂
The younger ones in the family start accusing me of being a "Boomer" for owning a copy CD of the official album to Snakes on a Plane, and having the slightest clue who Coheed and Cambria were.
I feel really old when I can point out to them which scenes in Power Rangers 2017 were explicitly rip offs of The Breakfast Club, and they look at me confused, because the only time they can ever remember anyone mentioning The Breakfast Club, was when Bowling for Soup referenced that movie in a song! Heck, they think I'm old for remembering what it was like when Bowling for Soup first released 1985!
When they want to watch the Jim Carey cartoon of A Christmas Carol, and I say the Muppets did it better, and they can't remember the Muppets ever being in a Charles Dickens adaptation.
When I tell them they need to show their moms more respect than they do, and why, and they stare at me like I'm from another planet!
When they talk big about their favorite game on their phone, and I remind them that handheld consoles used to be monochrome devices that weren't part of a phone. And that preloaded LCD primitive sprites were once used on a monochrome device powered by AA batteries to make an entire Sonic video game. That there was a time when Tails was Sonic's only sidekick. Not the umpteen million ones growing like a cancer you see today.
When I can show them how the propaganda in their history textbooks is just a modification of a similar grift from a textbook from 1994, and how the variants actually partially contradict in superficial ways, and they look at me bedazzled for insisting anything in a book their school would dump on them could contain propaganda!
When I look at the bookstore of my alma mater today, and it's all blatant Marxism and fetishizing tyrants like Trudeau, and all the classic literature such as Plato is nowhere to be found. All of it ironically merchandised.
When I remind them that the Gummi Bear song first became popular around the same time as 300 memes and All Your Base, and they can't fathom that a game named Zero Wing once existed.
When I reminisce fondly upon the days when I could get a Beef Grilled Stuffed Burrito combo at Taco Bell for just under $6, and the little tykes have no clue how that makes any sense.
When I used to laugh at how overpriced houses were in The Sims 4, and now I laugh at how unrealistically cheap they are.
When I tell them how in the 2000s, everyone my age lusted after the fantasy of living in one of those McMansions you saw on "reality" TV, being able to have those impractical status symbol sports cars, and many wanted to gloat about how promiscuous they could be and get away with it.
Now, many my age have grown up. We're planning on which 2-bedroom and one bathroom glorified shack we're willing to settle for, just so we don't have to live in tents. Which one of these roach-infested dumps is worth $60k. Getting married in a courthouse, let alone a church, seems like a near-impossible goal to obtain. And we're considering which electric-enhanced bicycles are worth $3k, so we don't need to get fleeced on buying cars we can't afford. Again, the kids think I'm a weirdo for remembering the excesses of yesteryear.
When I see millennials having retro 90s parties
when i can say we've been friends for 10+ years
walking to my friend's house, having to take a chance on them being home, cuz we didn't have phones yk
having to memorize phone numbers
i remember listening to sound books on my cd player before going to sleep
also renting cd's, the last place in my town closed down like 6 years ago :(
Who gets old?

when you're sitting with the old people at work and try to figure out what the new software update even means lol
You know you're getting old when you need reading glasses.
You know you're getting old when you talk to a friend about something you did 40 years and realize you were already an adult then.
You know you're getting old when you fart when you stand up.
You know you're getting old when you can't take the lid off the jar any more.
You know you're getting old when you use slang and at least two generations of younger people have no idea what you are talking about.
You know you're getting old when you have to tilt your head way back to get all the wrinkles out of your neck so you can shave.
You know you're getting old when you start getting Social Security, Medicare or whatever retirement plans your country has.
You know your getting old when the "girl" you go out with is a grandmother.
You know you're getting old when you get together with old friends and end up talking about medical shit that is wrong with you.
You know you are getting old when your parents and most of your friend's parents have died... and maybe your friends themselves are starting to die off.
You know you're getting old when the musicians you grew up listening to look older than shit.
You know you're getting old when sports figures you grew up watching look older than shit.
You know you're still young when you ignore all that old age stuff and just enjoy life - socialize, dance, party, hike, eat ice cream - and rock-n-roll till you die.
I have been having some small issues. But it’s been happening more and more. I think I threw my back out maybe once at 18. In the last two years, I have done it four or five times. I sleep badly and pull a muscle or two… so I creak and snap… but I did that at 25… I’m just getting it more and it feels more painful.
My eyesight is crap, used to be great, but it’s gone downhill fast. I wake up and I am super blurry. Need glasses. Not a huge issue. I don’t feel old because of the glasses… but I hate how blurry everything has gotten in three years. I do laugh that I’m starting to resemble my cousin (middle aged) more and more out of anyone. Especially with the glasses.
Other than those things, and they gray hair, which I am NOT A FAN OF - eh, I don’t FEEL super old, I feel unhealthy… but to be fair, I felt bad at 30. Bad sleep, chronic pain. At 30 I think I groaned getting up. Arthritis, nerve damage, etc. If I was healthier, didn’t have depression, I would probably feel like a million bucks.
But I’m not staking out my grave just yet.
Your getting old when you don't care what other people think and just live the life you wanted. Also when the first thing you buy is not an lipstick or any other thing but an ointment, body pain reliever (since we already feel body pain as always). Other things is you know what you like and what you don't like already and many more. Additionally, you rather choose staying at home sleeping and stuck in your bed than going outside and partying.
Well this is based on my own experience I don't know what yours...
Back in my day you had to yell at people to get off the phone because you were trying to use the internet. Lmao that's part of it.
But ummm probably a hint that I'm getting older is that my back has been giving out more, I mean do heavy manual labor for a living but still it didn't used to do that.
Also I make noise when I get up from a chair or from kneeling. O and the arthritis in my left hand.
I mean I'm not old I haven't even gotten to my prime yet but damn do I feel old most days.
When I don’t wanna do things at 9 at night on a fucking Wednesday. Hit up a club? Dance all night and doing shots? Fuck all that shit. Been there and done a whole lot of that. Give me my robe and glass of something strong and a couch, after that I’m golden
Exactly! 🤣
The thing you didn't want to happen the most that is unavoidable with age starts happen...
When you find yourself saying the same things to your kids that you once thought your parents were being unfair aCe🕳s for doing... Its crazy how much things change but still stay the same...
I stop giving importance to the things that people of my age give to
Just like old people are able to do some work without much external botheration, even when there is some. They just do not care about anything apart from the work they are doing.
I am becoming like that.
You know you’re old AF when your most fond memories are from a year before modern adults were even born. Like me playing Super Mario 64 in 1997 or Pokemon Snap in 1999, when modern 22 year olds, who are adults, weren't even born yet.
How 'bout this? You know you're old AF when you remember phone numbers by the digits, and used to tape TV shows on your VCR cause you weren't going to be home in time.
My seven year old gave me a confused look when I mentioned changing the tape in an answering machine for a land line phone😆
You can predict the weather! I always thought my Grandma and mother were joking when they would say "Oh I can feel it's gna rain/snow tomorrow/tonight" .. Yea I can too now!
Something about the joints, muscles, and bones and change in temperature. Then it's worse if u had any surgery bc it presses on ur nerves. I had a few surgeries, like my right ankle, I have a bunch of screws and a plate in there, so it hurts really bad in the winter. The spring I can tolerate.
When you look up a song that you wanted to listen to and the comment section is full of "I listened to this while in highschool" "back when I was 8..." "if you're listening to this in X you're a legend" "So lucky to have grown up with this band" then you know
I was helping some musicians load up their band equipment, reached for an amp and one said “No, Mike, that’s heavy!” She was eleven-years-old.
On a birthday, a Hooter’s waitress tried to assure me I wasn’t getting old. With her sweetest, most reassuring voice, she said “You only four years older than my mom!”
When you ask yourself or say "what is this bullshit music the kids are listening to?"
You know you’re getting old or old af when you get up out of bed, thinking of something important that you have to do today, and by the time you get to the bathroom, you've forgotten about it. Finally, as you're going to bed that night, as your head hits the pillow, you think: F@#%! I FORGOT TO... !
I CAN'T count how many times this has happened to me!
I know I'm old when I do have to think twice about how late at night I'm going to eat something... or not
I might be not 60 years old myself, by my digestive system definitely is getting there... lol
You know you’re getting old "When the nurses at the Hospital are old enough to be your daughter or son"
Your favorite childhood tv show turns 20 this year.
I knew I was old when bands I liked in middle school like Green Day started putting out compilation albums
The first time your back goes out... I was only 29, but by then I had spent nearly 20 years in extreme sports and combat sports, neither are kind to the body
When you don’t understand how to use the newest technology and you don’t understand the latest TikTok trends..
I know I'm getting old because I absolutely cannot stand Gen Z, think they are annoying, and think they dress like absolute trash.
I’m in an active martial arts class. You heal fast and feel good when you stay active.
“.. you stop working out.”
When you have to explain old tv shows, music, fashion, and movies to anyone younger than you
When those tight shorts and short tops you loved so much on girls are now being worn by your daughter and there is no way she is getting out of the house dressed like that.
When idle conversation with family and friends stops being about jobs, kids, and vacations and starts being about medical maladies, conditions and bodily functions. 🤣
When everyone I saw reminded me of someone else.
When you can't remember what you were going to type!!!
When you hook up with someone born in the 21st century and it's legal
I think you are n the money re making sound effects
You know you're getting old when you forget to take out the trash... and no one cares.
Loud music gets you upset.
"If it's to loud your to old so turn it up and break off the knob."
When you realize you don't know what "AF" means.
U let one slip by accident in the office! LOL! its ok though they're silent and non-potent actually coconutty scent! LOL! JK everyone!
Lol. I'm lucky all my joints are good.. years of weight training must have helped.
You know you are getting old when Jello has become your main course at mealtime. lol
When ever i sit alone and think about the past and future 🥺
the grunting when getting up or laying down thing is so true 🤣
When your pants are pulled up to your chest
when life stops being fun
Kids born in 2000 are 22
Can't say I work out
LOL... I refuse to grow up... so sue me...
My back and knees always hurt
When people ask "You were alive during 9/11?"
you'd rather have food than sex.
Not in that position yet.
Damn that 25 years ago
