Did you make any cool discoveries?

I don't think that's a complete data, there are a lot of countries in the world and there has been a lot of kingdoms, empires and a plethora of families since the beginning of the human race and you have shared DNA with them too you literally have shared DNA with every single human being ever existed and will ever exist so long as they are human since they are the only ones that carry human genome.
SO YOU LISTING JUST A FEW PLACES THAT (AT THIS POINT OF TIME) ARE CALLED BY THE NAMES YOU MENTIONED SEEMS LIKE A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED ANGER PROJECTED ON THIS SITE RATHER THAN USEFUL PIECE OF INFORMATION.
by the way I AM NOT A CITIZEN ANY WESTERN COUNTY AND I AM DEFINITELY NOT A WHITE PERSON.
Nope but My dad side grandma did an ancestry tree. It showed that on that side I come from the king who lost in the battle of hasting here's along with been tied to lady Godiva the one who rode the horse naked.
Some interesting stuff. I have the blood of royalty and would be king today if it wasn't for the french probably still wouldn't be but would of been closer.
Yes I did ancesteryDNA and 23&Me. And they were completly different results. 23andMe said I was like 99% scandinavian and 1% north African.. which doesn't make much sense😂
And ancesteryDNA said I was around 60-70% scandinavian and the rest german, brittish, french and American. Which makes a lot more sense for me at least. But I dont know.
I did Ancestry. No cool discoveries or anything. Never really cared about that stuff. My mom just sent it to me for fun. It was interesting seeing it match me with my mom and sister though 🤗I'm not blood related to anyone on my dad's side, but i saw some familiar faces with my mom's.

While I think it'd be cool to know my ancestry in more detail as well as the other stuff these companies claim to trace, I'm not a fan of giving away private information like that. Address, passwords, financial details, current location, etc. are as personal as detailed family information and DNA to me.
I have not. I've read a fair few anecdotes that call many of these tests validity into question and some of the companies share your DNA and personal data in very alarming ways.
I know who I am, and even if I'm mistaken I'd prefer the mythology of my background over whatever conflicting results might appear.
No I wanted to, u asked my mon and she's like it ain't hard to figure out that your family ancestry is black lol
Lol thatās true but itās rlly fun to see exactly where your family is from
Not yet. I've thought of it. Which brand did you use? I think there are three of them available.
I did ancestry
Does it show what percent "Neanderthal" we are? I heard one of those shows that.
Also does it show a list of people who you are related to, who have also taken the same test?
Not really, but I know my ancestry pretty well. From my dad's side I am textbook WASP. From my mom's side I am part French and part Black Irish. Technically my mom's mother's side is French Canadian, but they came from France. She's related to some Cajuns according to immigration records.
No, I've never done that. Some people say it's fake and a waste of money and they might be right.
I know what my background is and a part of it makes me feel sad and angry. But it is what is and unfortunately I can't change it.
No, they're not exactly accurate.
Nah too expensive. Do get curious sometimes tho. My parents didn't really keep track of anything so all we know now is like "German? Polish? Maybe Italian?" So, probably a light mix.
Yes, I did. The test confirmed what I already knew... I'm the family genealogist.
No. I know what people i belong to. And even if i have mixed ancestry (which i probably do) it means nothing to me.
Besides, my last name is specific to my country and language. so that solves that issue.
No, but Iām sure Iād find out Iām Russian, Ashkenazi, Belorussian, Mongolian, and no doubt others. Iāve heard that everyone is at least 5% African and have wondered how true that is.
Nope, i would never do one. they sell the results to the government.
I haven't found a company that sequences a persons dna completely, so I didn't see the point.
Uh, there was a Nobel Prize for that not that long ago. And there's CRISPR that let's you alter genes for different purposes. But, I also don't know of any company that promises that.
I get your point. Please remember there is such a thing as junk DNA. So out of that 100%, a chunk would be like something written in the Windings font... š¤·š»āāļø
You are speaking of an entirely different thing. I'm not talking about scientific breakthroughs, I'm talking about availability.
name one commercial company that offers complete genetic sequencing to the general public.
Also "junk DNA" is a misnomer.
Mine wasnāt as varied as OP just split between Scotland & Ireland
To be honest, this seems like a farce. That convinces me to never take it.
Yea, I found out I'm 30% Indigenous Mexican, but I've always considered myself white.
Don't give your money to those people. It's a big time scam according to the research I did.
No it is not they got my ancestry right compared to what my family had told me.
@Tonita91996: Those testing aren't accurate at all.
You never took the test to find out how accurate it is. They upload your results every year for more accurate results. I don't listen to what everyone else says. Especially if results are relatable to what I was told.

Yeah I don't care what they said that is only one video I'm not going to sit here and argue because it is not getting me anywhere.
@Tonita91996: Then you don't care to know the truth but your own bias. š¤·āāļø
I get this stupidity a lot on here arguing about trivial stuff and nothing is going to change but continue a mile long back and forth argument until someone has the last word.
Nah I don't believe that ish at all, they can't trace back ish
Yeah. It said I was white. In fact it said I was so white that I should feel guilty. 🤣
I trust 23andme more than ancestry DNA I have 23andme more diverse races
Nah im not the curious type
Where did you get the test?
Ancestry. com but I suggest 23 and me because it actually gives you the region and stuff more then ancestry
Thank you
Fake and Waste of money.
no... too much %
What do you mean by "too much %"?
Not yet but I might do
No, I will go by what my parents told me.
You're black !
Yes. And the results were interesting
If I did, I hope itād say āa wee bit of dinosaurā
Yes I have
No I havenāt
