What would you do if you saw an abandoned puppy?

I'd take it then ask people around if they know who's dog this is, if someone says mine I'll actually investigate and ask them to tell me the dog's name as well as look at the dog's reaction when they first see their alleged owner, if I can't find it I'm taking it home then ask people I know (especially from that area if I know someone) to put the dog's picture online so maybe the owner contacts me, if not I'm keeping the dog, I already have a chihuahua and a Labrador, I know I can take care of that dog and I wouldn't feel like it's a liability for a second, quite the opposite
Thus actually happened a few days ago.
I saw a puppy that didn't seem to have a owner when I drove by.
I was thinking about going to get it some food, but it was on someone's property that I'm pretty sure don't like random people coming by to do random shit, even if it was something as wholesome as giving a random puppy some food.
I just imagined a scenario of me getting shot down for trespassing, so I opted to just mind my own business went on about my business.
You can end up I'm pretty shitty situations when you decided to stick your neck out to be a good civilian, I've seen it too many times and it makes me paranoid about it.
I would take it with me… first to a vet or shelter where I know it will be well taken care of… if those aren’t an option then I will take it home with me, buy food and stuff and take care of it until I can find a way to help it find a permanent and stable, loving home
Puppies are a rare and expensive commodity in my area. I would assume it'd already owned by someone and I would put some food/water out for it, but I wouldn't take it home because their owner is probably already searching for it.

Depends on the context ie if it's somewhere there is no people or like in the middle of the winter and I can't seem to find a owner, I temporarily bring it home and then get in contact with the authorities so it either get to a shelter or home. I don't want a puppy. They might be cute but they are a problem.
I’d just assume it ran out the door from a neighbor’s home and they were looking for it. Dogs escape and go running every once in a while. If the owner doesn’t go looking for them, they usually return home after an hour or so. They know who feeds them and takes care of them. If they were in danger of running into a busy street, I’d try to get them out of danger, but otherwise I tend to leave other people’s dogs alone.
If it has tags then call the owner. Otherwise I ask my parents. Found 5 dogs. All but one had tags. The one I didn't fell out of a car window, but the owner saw and came back for it. Luckily for me I was walking my dog so that dog didn't go far because it wanted to bind with my dig.
Take it to the vet to check for a microchip, if there is none then take it home. I would make sure to check that I'm not just walking off with someone's dog though even if I'd love to keep it.
I'd take him in like I did my kitten. but I'd check first the size of those paws. If it's coyote or wolf I'd take to animal control as they care for and re-release.
The same thing I do when I see a female or a male on the street I just walk by as they are ghosts, the reality is that this is a cruel world and everyone has to handle their own Shia
I do this with all domesticated animals I find. I take it to a vet to check for a chip and take care of it until I can find a new owner or a proper shelter
It depends how the dog is doing, I'm not going to get close to a aggressive dog if I dont know what I'm doing but I still want to help it.
Even if I have a dog and a cat at home, I'd definitely take him/her as well :) They need us...
Get it checked out at the vet & then take it home
Pick the poor guy up and take him home with me until I find someplace good to take him and be looked after for properly.
I would make sure it is adopted by a good family and taken well care of. I couldn’t ignore it
Depending on the breed, either keep it or drop it off at the dog shelter/SPCA.
call authorities. its shocking how unaware people are when it comes to stray dogs carrying diseases. of course depends on where u live for things like rabies, but close contact with a stray could put urself or other pets in danger.
Depends on the breed. Likely take it to a shelter or give it to a friend
Break its neck with my Bare hands take it home then cook it then eat it.
No I’m just messing with ya I’d take it home and It would be my new dog
Take it a shelter, I don't have the mental or emotional capacity to take care of another being, I can't even do that for me sometimes because depression is like that.
I'd hold onto it until I personally found an appropriate home for it.
That would be after trying everything to confirm its abandoned rather than just lost though.
Probably adopt it. I adopted both of my dogs from Priceless Pet Rescue, a no-kill shelter that is about two miles from my house.
I’m not sure probably take it into a good home because I’m not ready for a dog yet I wanna get a bigger yard
Either take it in myself or take it somewhere where I know it'll find a home
Id take it home and keep it, and curse the asshole who abandoned it.
when I had room and time to do so is take it home and find the owner if I can
Take him or her home.
Sounds like I would now have 3 dogs 🤷🏼♀️
Take it to a shelter.
Take it to the nearest animal shelter
I would beg my wife to let me keep him.
Pretend I didn't see him
Adopt it and give it a home.
call the authorities. not my business.
Call the shelter
Take him home ofc... who could resist?
Raise it myself.
Keep him.
MINE!!!
