Would it be wrong to ask him if he wants to meet up if I decide to visit his country?

I met a guy abroad a few years back. We texted for a long time after but I ultimately cut him off because I wanted more but he didn’t want long distance. Before I go back to university, I’d love a week or so somewhere close to the beach and I am considering going back to this country. I could potentially ask him if he’d like to meet up with me there and we could go to the beach together etc. Does this seem odd or desperate?

Do you think that you could call him and basically ready to him what you wrote here. It is well said and combines appreciation for him and fun within the confines of a visit. He be crazy to say no, however, his personal life may not be where he can entertain female guests. This is fine as long as you express your intentions as written... Hope it works out as you wish...
