What do you think about "Fur Babies"?

IN CASE YOU'RE UNFAMILIAR, fur babies are pets who's owners treat as if they were their human baby. If you've ever seen a dog or cat with their own rooms, human bed, or pet owners that care for their tiny dogs as if it was a baby, that's a fur baby.

I mean I call pets fur babies, but I don't treat them like an actual baby. 😂 Yes animals need to be loved and taken care of but they shouldn't be treated like people, because they're not people. I don't put my kid outside when he has a potty accident, but a dog is going outside for a while if it has an accident in my house.

It's cruel. As much as pets like to snuggle on the sofa or be fussed, they need to be allowed to exhibit their natural behaviour as much as possible. A dog doesn't want to be carried or pushed in a pram, it wants to sniff the ground, poke it's nose in bushes and compete in the local lamp post peeing contest.

That's inappropriate. It suggests they've never looked into how they should actually treat a pet.

This reminds me of a woman who kept a chimpanzee after her husband died. In the end it chewed her neighbour's face off and the police had to shoot it.

You're too insecure to admit that your level of possessive control of a pet is something you could never get away with, if you tried it with your offspring.

I feel kind of sad for people like this. I love animals and pets, but they are animals and pets.. not people or humans.

From my experience people like this struggle building strong emotional bonda and relationships with people and their pets can impact their relationships with people in negative ways.

They become codependent with pets, and push others away, do to mistrust and their childhood insecurities.

I have a fur baby, she's my cat. I call her that cause she's almost like a baby. She always wants to play and have attention or throws a hissy fit if you don't. She basically a kid but with fur and 4 legs. But no she doesn't have a stroller or wear cat clothes or anything.

As a dog trainer and someone who likes to answer Q’s differently I’ll say... Too much of anything can be bad. Trick is moderation. Nothing wrong with love. But spoiling will always backfire.

I think loving your pet and taking good care of it is a beautiful thing but making your pet a human baby is not healthy and it’s completely wrong because it’s not a human baby it’s a pet animal.

I personally think it's a waste of space and resources to treat them like human child. Really they can't appreciate things like us humans do. If you give them a bowl of caviar, they'd just score it the same as a bowl of cat/dog food. Those people are just kinda sad TBH.
