Motorcycle riders: when you see someone riding with a full face helmet and wearing a t shirt and shorts are you confused?

I was just having this conversation with a bank teller yesterday. I walked in with full, padded gear from riding in 106F temps.

She said “At least you’re protected. My husband says it’s too hot to ride his Harley with full gear.

I lightly punched my chest to reveal a plastic bag crunching sound and said “Bag of ice in my bra.” She didn’t even laugh. She gave me a look as if she was taking notes to tell her hubby.

It comes down to the rider. I myself would rather have the least amount of injuries if goodness forbid the worst happened.

Around here, it's not that unusual to see full suits, but also not unusual to see guys in tank tops, shorts, and flip-flops. Some people can't seem to learn from the experience of others - they have to learn everything the hard way.

Depending on the state, they are following the law: The helmet is mandatory, the body gear is not. Personally, I hope these people have valid organ-donor cards, so that their dead body could be of some use to others. 🙄

I’ve seen a guy on a moped in street clothes, no helmet and a face mask. It would be almost impossible to catch COVID on a bike, alone.

True, I t just…idk bothers me for some reason. Either be a free spirit with a devil may care attitude and have an open face or wear a proper armored jacket and long pants. When the temperature starts cooling I’m sure people will start dressing better for riding.
