In guys its equated with a testosterone spike, a precursor to sex or fighting, also a deep voice is authoritative which women today find threatening even when there is no threat unless the first of the above is involved.

Why the fuck do people make shit up. No one gets offended by deep voice. If there is, it's just an individual problem just like someone could get offended by short nails or no eyesbrows etc.
