Whats your thoughts on male babysitters?

I've done this for friends and family (4 younger sisters, 3 nieces & 2 nephews) done everything bathed, fed, changed all of them. I have more childcare time in than a lot of parents, I'll probably continue as and when any great nieces & nephews arrive.

I can understand how some will be dubious about a male babysitters but I will point out that Paedophiles of both sexes are some of the most accomplished liars on the planet and come from all walks of life and from all socio-economic groups. They can be male or female, rich or poor, employed or unemployed, religious or non-religious, highly educated or non-educated, or from any race.

As a former babysitter, I can say it was a bit difficult because I was taking care of eight children... At least the pay was awesome.

I think you pick your babysitters according to your kids personalities. We have a couple of neighbors with teenage boys and girls and our kids relate to these teenagers in different ways. The boys might be learning some really good life skills that could lead to them being more understanding fathers when they are older. Women have a natural nurturing instinct that is usually stronger than a males nurturing instinct.

I am speaking for my self (i don't have children) but me and my nephew, are best buddies. We play D&D, video games, football ⚽, rugby 🏉 and he helps out at the garden, our projects never ends at lego building. My brother complains that i do so much with my nephew that our parents can't compete with 🤣. So i give my parents a chance so they can take him top parks and play monster trucks with him :D

I'm not sure about it since more likely if Dad are left with kids more often they be like a expect the unexpected.

Its like more fun but not so sure with man baby sitters since Its a bit unusual.

When I have kids and had a babysitter in general cameras will be setup and if they get knocked down or anything magically happens to them I will see them in court. So i guess i trust male babysitters but women can still me pedos too

Women are less likely to be pedophiles, but more likely to be physically abusive, so the camera is still justified. I read of one couple who bought a nanny cam after seeing how their dog growled at the baby sitter.

I was a preschool teacher at one time. I was working on a master’s degree in elementary education, my coworkers were mostly unwed single teenage mother, high school dropouts, with drug dealer, F-boy babydaddies, and I was the one everyone was suspicious of.

I don't think babysitting should exist. People should look after their own children. I don't trust anyone with my future kids, as I was once a kid under the care of a babysitter/maid and let's just say it didn't go well. Lesson learned.

If the parents hire him, then they must feel comfortable. I myself would have a camera to monitor everything while I'm away regardless of sex of babysitter

Men are capable of being good babysitters, but those are skills best left for taking care of their own family.
Any grown man who really, really wants to be a babysitter is unusual.

I actually agree with you. The only time I've watched someone's kids, my girlfriend at the time, was always with me. I knew the kids but just felt lost being by myself. The parents kinda wanted it that way too. Even with my niece and nephew, although I have watched them for an hour or so by myself.

To be honest I don't completely trust any babysitters (Men or women). Whenever you leave your child vulnerable in the hands of a stranger it's a risk.
Having at least two of them there might be of some comfort to some parents.
