Yes. My mother was cheating on my father behind his back with a real scumbag. He dumped her when he found out after she gave him an STD. She was absolutely ruthless in the divorce claiming he was violent, controlling and abusive. None of which was true. She kept Jim from us for years so she could get maximum amount of alimony and child support, she also ran up thousands in debts in his name and raiding our college fund. She moved her new man into the home and he was always perving on my younger sister which made my mother jealous and abusive to her. Eventually when I got old enough I beat the shit out of the new guy. My mother has a new child with this guy but my sister and other brother are long gone and stopped contact with her and soon as we could get out of there. Social services and the courts let us down. My father met a real good woman who he has two more kids with, because she's younger, thinner and very attractive this has set my mother off on her, still thinks of my dad as her property.

My parents didn't get divorced and they're like an old couple getting along style, but dad was discovered cheating when I was still a few days old so I guess they were separated for 6 months back then because even though they lived at home they never talked and mom only stayed because of emotional blow and my older sister.

Ha, the answer will always be yes. Honestly, it was the American time that they would.. when I'm a teenager. But they still talk to each other like human beings and will support each other when I'M Doing something they don't approve of.

Both died when I was young, but from what my grandparents say they were very devoted to each other and my dad did not even date in the forty months he survived my mom.

You try to get the kids on your side, you try to get them against the other one before you burn down the house. Divorce is your way out.

@Rania05 There are lots of shows where all these rich people get divorced and everyone gets to live happily ever after anyway. The parents try to bribe their kids with sports cars and expensive vacations. The reality is that kids are stuck between two parents that make them feel like they are bad if they associate with the other parent. Everyone is impoverished and 30 days away from living under a bridge.
