I don't think there is a general rule, in my relationship, I focus more on savings but that is because he pays for everything so my income is deliberately where a lot of our savings come from. I think we are equally interested in savings, it is just how we divide spending vs saving in our particular relationship. But in general I don't know, I have seen guys who save, guys who don't save, girls who save, girls who don't save so I don't know if you can really say.

u +1 yIt’s not a gendered thing, it depends on the individual. I know men who are super materialistic and blow all the money on useless crap, and I know women who do the same. Just as I know women who are great at self management and saving money, and men who do the same.

+1 yI'm not sure you can make a general conclusion that one sex or the other is better at saving.
If you consider the old saying that women like to shop, then maybe men are better at saving. But if you consider that men often like to buy expensive "gadgets", then maybe women are better at saving.
When I was growing up, my mother did all the saving. Me personally, I'm better at saving that my then-wife or my current SO.

+1 yReally does depend on person to person and their lifestyles. For example I'm poverty income, but it's logical to me to save for what i want and have some overhead to cover emergency costs. It's not easy and i make sacrifices, but i do it. Meanwhile i see other poverty level people spending every penny when they get it and then wonder why they are in debt.

+1 yHas nothing to do with gender. More with how you were raised.
I spent my teenage years with no money so now I barely spend money and save so much for "rainy days". If I ever want something I will ponder it for weeks or months even before I even consider buying it. I look at my bank account and decide if I would be comfortable with the number it would show after I bought said thing. It's a little excessive but has saved me a lot of times.

+1 yWhoever Has Better discipline. depends on How they grew up who they are as a person. Were all born into this world with things we can do easily and things we cannot do Because it’s just too Hard mentally and no matter How hard we Try to be good at something it can Still be hard given our every effort. Like for instance If I’m ever robbed at Gun Point There just going have to shoot me because I’m naturally Stubborn.

+1 yProbably men bc they live life more simple… they need less things to be happy. They probably wash their ass with $1 dish soap or 2 in 1 cheap soap lol. Some women are the opposite. Women love to spend money.
But it also depends on how they grew up and what they were taught. My dad couldn’t save money bc he grew up poor with 10 brothers and sisters. He liked spending money on anything. My mother had a cheap father who made good money. She is a great saver.

On the other hand, men are the ones expected to pay for the dates, pay for child support, more likely to get charged due to accusations and least likely to get away with charges for the same crime a woman did and so on. Our lives aren't as simple as you think.
- +1 y
Oh yeah getting hospitalized more often than women for many reasons.
- +1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara I’m talking about single men and women.
- +1 y
Then just take out that child support and the rest still stands. Oh by the way, a guy can even be accused of the father and pay for child support to children that isn't even his.
- +1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara lol you asked and I answered
Your answer is going in a totally different direction than what was asked. Stay on topic - +1 y
*that’s not what was asked
- +1 y
Then why would you even consider "being single" as a part of the main topic here? Also where did I ask anything? You thought I'm the one who made the question?
- +1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara I said what I said and that’s final.

Then you're being one sided and that's final.

+1 yMen, even if we spend money on things they actually have resale value like cars and guns. Women tend to spend money on more things with fleeting but sentimental value like furniture and clothes. also, women don’t really have to account for men in their budget like we have to with them. i can’t remember what movie it’s from but the funniest quote was why are a lot women broke when they already get half of what we have plus they have all the pussy 🤣
00 ReplySorry but I think guys are better in terms of saving lol. A lot of the girls at my school blow their money on clothes, makeup, etc. And that's probably why girls always expect guys to pay for every little thing. ._.

00 ReplyDefinitely men. Although both genders can be bad with money, women tend to spend more recklessly and save less. Unless the man has a gambling problem.

Women have so many accecories to buy for upkeep02 Reply- +1 y
I think its generally men who save up better. Women got manipulated so hard into buying so much for their standard life today that it doesn't surprise me women have less money at the end of the month then men even if they earn the same or more. The amount of stuff women need to buy is extreme. From sanitary products to makeup and hair/body products and so on.
I believe the economy just wants to use women as much as possible because they know you need it so they make it as expensive as they still can so women buy them. I'm certain that women don't need half the stuff they have in order to just live comfortably. Women are more agreeable which is why you are easily manipulated into stuff that actually hurts you. - +1 y
@RiseofArtemis some women aren't into buying all the extra fancy products like I never do. And everything like that I do have to buy is extreme couponed for. Like I've never met a man that extreme coupons and I'm in a lot of those types or groups. Literally all women. So if anything it's men that waste their money on the few products that they need. Not so much the women unless they are careless spenders.

Not necessarily. If you compare how much women need to buy in order to live, lets say all the beauty products compared to men then women pay way more for the standard of living then men do. The economy is just using women to make even more money by manipulating you into thinking you need it. When half your stuff actually isn't even needed. Makeup isn't necessary, your expensive nails aren't either. What is the most important for women that can't be missed is the tampons and sanitary products.
If you wouldn't buy all those things that aren't a real necessity then you would have more money. The economy today is made to keep you poor.
The man. Always the man.
