And what doyou think they spend the most money on?
Which gender do you think spend more money? Women or men?

And what doyou think they spend the most money on?
Both can spend a lot, but on different things.
First off we have to address that it is unfortunately more expensive to be a woman. We have to spend additional money on things like bras, menstrual products, toilet paper (mentioning this because women use it way more than men), hair care products (excluding hair styling products), handbags because our clothes often don't have pockets, and those are just the essentials. On top of those you add what society expects of women to do to further groom themselves and we have to spend money on body hair removal, nails, hair styling, makeup, skincare, jewellery, various kinds of shoes. Men can have one set of a three-piece suit and dress shoes and it will be versatile enough to wear at most occasions, women have far more varying outfits for different dress codes. So naturally even without being too much of a spendthrift you would be spending more money as a woman than a man.
If you're a man you can't look down on women who don't shave their legs or paint their nails because they aren't 'taking care of themselves' and also complain about why women spend so much money in the same breath. I don't always remove body hair and I never paint my nails, never style my hair, yet everything else I spend money on is still a lot of money and when I've occasionally had waxing appointments the cost hurt my soul and bank account.
With that out of the way, I see different patterns in men and women in regards to where the spend the money when the have the habit of spending a lot. Men tend to spend a lot on intoxicants, like for smoking and drinking, and when they are more likely to do it at the expense of their families, like not caring about bills or buying food or other necessary expenditure. Whereas with women although it is common for them to spend a little extra on accessories for themselves (handbags, shoes etc) or the home (decor, scented candles etc) or for the children (a beautiful dress spotted in the mall although the child already has enough dresses), they never do it to the level that they can't pay bills or buy food. Women spend more, more often, but when men spend more they are more likely to do it at the detriment of their families.
Women are pressured to spend a lot more money on beauty and grooming and clothing and they are usually the ones doing shopping for children and children are super expensive.
However, men's hormonal cycle is a lot more chaotic because women's is a nearly month-long, usually 28-day cycle, but men's is a 24-HOUR cycle so their hormones are wildly different from morning to night.
This means that when a man first wakes up he has a lot more testosterone in his system which makes him more likely to make impulsive and large purchases, which is why men more often buy a new vehicle or a new TV seemingly out of nowhere.
This is why I think everyone should understand their hormone cycle! The more testosterone you have the more likely you are to make a rash decision, especially when it comes to money. Women have the most testosterone during their period and then will have a "nesting phase" while pregnant that can also rub up on their male partner! Both women and men tend to spend a lot more money during the nesting phase of pregnancy. His body releases hormones based on his partner's scent, which is why men can experience symptoms of pregnancy along with their partner, the baby's scent also triggers a flood of hormones, it's really crazy to think about how similar and connected we actually are!
I think the real answer is that parents spend more money than anyone! lol
Women spend more of the government's money, husbands, ex-husbands, and baby daddy's money. It is acceptable and encouraged for a woman to divorce a working man and use his money and welfare programs.
Men earn their money through labor, and women use the money. Most billionaires are men because they know to save and invest. They spend their money wisely.
I think the answer to this question is all relative to what you earn and how much you make. I will not honest I make over 100K, like $9,500 a month... I spend like over $3,000 a month on whatever I want, and still manage to save $2,000 a month.
So, do I spend a lot? Sure, for someone that makes less than 60K a year that's a lot. But I have zero debt and still save a few thousand every month. So, no I really do not spend that much, do I?
For some that makes a lot more than me they would think I don't spend very much at all.
In general men tend to spend the money on the big-ticket items, and women tend to spend it on larger quantities of smaller items.
Sof or me, it comes down to who carries the most debt, men or women?
Experian compared debt balances among men and women and found that, on average:
Men have 2% more credit card debt than women
Men have 20% more personal loan debt than women
Men have 16.3% more auto loan debt than women
Men have 9.7% more mortgage debt than women
Women have 2.7% more student loan debt than men
Survey says... drum roll please?
MEN!!! Spend more and borrow more!
Well here's my opinion on this subject , now I'm not an expert on this subject but I believe it's Men. Well when you love a woman & financially you want to know how to show her you care - in my opinion do not spend on something that's expensive otherwise you won't be able to buy something else she wants. Cause if you were to go out to a fancy restaurant & you ordered almost everything on the menu , the check came up & it was more than you bargained for. So I believe it's like sorta like teeter totter routine you don't spend too much or too little but try to spend within your financial limits.

I've had girlfriends who spent far more money than I do, and I've had some who were quite frugal. Girls tend to spend less money but more often (clothes shopping once a month) and guys spend more money but less often (buying a boat or a truck.)
Women spend more money on average then men. This is a blanket stamens that’s true. There are reasons why women spend more then men.
1 women tend to be home more (house wives). So of course there going out buying the groceries and taking care of the family. A new stove isn’t cheep.
( no I’m not saying women should stay in the kitten)
2 women have periods, men don’t men can’t have periods men can’t give birth. This is why trans men are women because they do have periods and give birth. There is so such thing as a trans man. Women have to buy hygiene products that take care of this issue so plus normal soap. Hence why women spend more then men.
3 men give us a Tv and an Xbox and 100 boxes of cup of noodles men will be fine. Women tend to want more which isn’t a knock on women it’s just part of what makes men and women different.
As an O. G. who doesn't date anymore, I'd say men spend more on average. Excluding those who make BIG money, (They spend money differently, and it's variable from profession to profession, and lifestyle to lifestyle.)
Men are more likely to have disposable income. More men than women pay for the dates. Married men are more likely the ones footing a bill or treating the family to something. So, statistically, It's men, but some individual women, (and girls) have exclusive liberties to money. For instance a rich college girl might spend a hell of a lot more than her male peer with the same liberties. That still doesn't tip the statistics.
It's already known that women spend more money. It's why most ads are directed toward women. Guys tend to have solid interests that are more specific... I like guns, guitars, playing video games, camping, and lifting weights at my home gym so you already know where my extra money goes.
Women... let's just be real... you just won the lottery if she has a hobby at all. Going out to eat, shopping, events, vacations... all the stuff that makes me cringe and die inside, women seem to love that shit. They dress up, and accessorize more. Not all, and yeah some males, especially effeminate males do too. I'm just saying in general, there are big differences between the sexes.
Food, fashion, socializing and traveling are all valid interests and hobbies.
@CubsterShura those things aren't measurable in quality. So the only way to get satisfied with those is quantity...
@Guy___ Great point! That would explain why people with those particular "hobbies" are constant consumers. Eating out about 2 times equals the price of the video game I've been playing for weeks now, and for very many hours. The costs of what I'll deem as 'effeminate hobbies and interests" are much greater in the long term than what I'd call an "actual hobby or interest."
@Guy___ False. It is possible to get thrifty and not spend much if you are really willing to dedicate yourself. Many other hobbies require money too. If you want to lift weights, buying a gym membership. Reading, buying books.
One of my best friends is a big fashionista and unfortunately has a financially abusive father who doesn't even provide them food sometimes. Do you think she has a lot of money to buy a lot of clothes? No and she doesn't do that either. Almost everything in her wardrobe is thrifted, given as a gift by someone else or solid pieces she's been owning for several years that are still serving her.
@CubsterShura I've seen plenty of thrift store aficionados go overboard and end up counting change towards the light at the end of the tunnel that is called their paycheck. Financially abusive father? so she doesn't provide for her own habit either? I have friends that like to do drugs, but they can pay for their own habits. There's a hobby... is drug use a valid interest as well? in my opinion I think drug use is just as costly as buying a shit ton of shoes that only get used a couple of times at most.
Don't get me wrong, I understand what you're saying... but... I have some questions. I've had the same phone... let me check what it is... Galaxy S10 (whatever the fuck that is) and the same phone case for it since my wife bought it for me, I think around when it came out. It works fine still. Why has my wife bought herself 5 phones, my kids like 3 a piece, and her stupid Mom (that can't even figure out how to work a phone) 3 for that amount of time? ... I only mention the phone cases because she literally buys new phone cases about once a week... what causes that kind of fucking crazy?
I'll admit I've seen that type of behavior from guys here and there (especially with drugs), but what causes that need for maybe 5 minutes of appreciation at such a cost just over and over? I mean a book at least takes a couple of hours to read and it's something to ponder or enter imagination land with... maybe learn a thing or two.
Why do primarily and mostly females have that kind of "hobby?" It seems fruitless and there is never any end to it... it cannot be perfected
(please don't mention the ultra-wealthy, none of us are one of them... and chump change doesn't matter when you're a part of that club)
You're acting like only men keep their old phones and women constantly buy new ones. I am only using my 4th phone right now since I started owning phones since 2015 and it's only because the previous ones were either damaged or lost. Same with my phone covers I haven't used new ones unless the old ones wear out. On the other hand I've seen men who also get themselves the latest models and a lot of gadgets in general.
You don't represent every man and your wife doesn't represent every woman. And stop calling women 'females'.
@CubsterShura women are human females. They also have higher activity in their right brain hemisphere and men in their left brain hemisphere. That is synonymous with your statement that you like fashion and socializing over the gym and guns. The difference in brain hemispheres also explains very clearly why women simply don't do the mathematical equations on money. This isn't debatable that statistically overall, women spend more money needlessly. My grandma also has spent less money in her lifetime than my brother did in one day. So what? these things are irrelevant to the fact mentioned above.
@CubsterShura You obviously skipped where I said "not all" about women and mentioned that some men do it too.
I'm speaking in terms of generalizations. And generally speaking, I'm correct.
Anyways, who demonized the word 'females' for you? I've gotten that reaction before which is why I usually just say dudes and chicks instead of males and females. Is there some sort of stigma behind the word? I've received the same reaction to saying guys and girls for the 'girls' part... and I'm just like, "Um... the name of this website doesn't trigger anyone though?"
@Guy___ when did I say I like socializing and fashion more than gym and guns? I spent my entire teenage years being a martial art fanatic and gym rat. While I've moved on from them because I tend to switch up my hobbies, many hobbies I've had in the past and have now are not all necessarily stereotypically feminine. I was obsessed with playing chess once and played with my father every night and competed in school and won almost ever year. I am currently into solving sudoku and can solve extreme level ones rather fast.
And I've also had many stereotypically feminine interests. Once I loved wearing a lot of makeup, now not so much anymore. Currently I'm into a lot of creative projects and make handicrafts. Some gingerbread cookies I decorated yesterday for a contest won first place. And I have made money out of my creative hobby.
Humans are multifaceted and you can't stereotype people like that.
Men spend more if you look at total spend, but that includes head of household spending, including significant spending on spouses and children (even adult children, such as college students).
If you look strictly at consumer debt, women hold 70% of consumer debt, and a (growing) majority of college debt.
Women also tend to have significantly lower retirement savings compared to men. That's going to be a huge problem for retiring women, especially given that there has been a birthrate crash, meaning that there will be far fewer people working/earning than before, so there won't be the ability to extract enough money from them via taxes and fees. People who can't pay their own way (men or women) are going to be in huge trouble, especially if they don't have younger family.
Men do without a doubt. You can just look at the rates of who runs the budget in house holds. Women are statistically better and more commonly found house hold finances. God bless em, because I swear. I personally find swallowing a 9mm bullet is a quicker and less painful solution than trying to balance a budget, lol.
They both spend the same amount of money, but they do it at different ages in their lives. Men spend later in life on singular items costing large sums of money (cars and houses), whereas women spend earlier in life on numerous smaller purchases like clothes and other appearance related stuff.
It costs a significant amount of money to be attractive by today’s standards if you’re a woman past 30. Since society is shallow as hell and only getting shallower I see a future where being naturally beautiful will simply equate to being ugly unless you can afford implants, surgeries and Botox since the standard will be absolutely nothing less than perfection. So, sadly, I’d have to say women spend more.
That is hard to say. Depends on what they spend money on and how much disposable income they have. Women like shopping online for household items, kid's clothes, and things for around the house or her closet. Men like to spend money on cars and trucks
, their man caves, beer, and tools for the garage or yard. So I would say men spend more because their toys cost more.
Depends on the pepole I guess
Over all I say woman spend more (not including shared stuff like family food) as they get a lot of small things (daily and mounthly care)
Man I think spend more in a short time (buying higher priced stuff)
Even that I will say my dad spends a lot more then my mom dose
She got a area in the closet, he has all the rest of it 😅
His also the one to get the newer phones/tablets or get gagets and stuff
It's a toss up. Everyone has a hobbie and everyone wants to express themselves. Men spend most of their money either on toys, tools, collections, or accessories. Women spend their money on appearance/collectables/hobbies. And then you factor in dating and family expenses. In this day and age, everyone can possibly pitch in, but also everyone can have their own idea on what's important or what they like. The traditional man will spend his money on tools and cool things. The traditional woman will spend her money on cosmetics and cute things. But it's also true that men can spend money on clothes and cosmetics as well- sneakers, hoodies, hair products, watches, necklaces. And this is only talking about straight people. There are so many different people and so many different interests.
There are so many gender identities and ways to express yourself. And each individual has different interests and needs.
Typical dude (not talking about closet gays, and soft types) only shops at hardware stores. Women shop at 150 random clothing stores, food stores, gift shops and so on. A dude buys a tool once and then uses it for years to do stuff. Woman buys over and over and over again.
Women spend more money i believe on unnecessary things. Hair products, cosmetics, cosmetic surgery, home decor, designer clothes, purses, SHOES, fake nails, fake lashes etc etc... men spend lots of money but its usually things the whole family can enjoy, boats, wave runners, snowmobiles, cars etc. So men may spend a higher amount of money but its for everyone usually. The kids can't wear the fake tan and new shoes that mom buys.
Women do 80% of domestic purchasing. And they buy way more clothing for themselves.
Men tend to purchase far fewer items, but when they do, the dollar amounts per item are higher.
The bulk of ad budgets are directed at males though. So maybe that says something; who the real spenders are.
In modern society, definitely women. Trying to maintain yourself to public standards with menstrual, skin, hair, and other care is exhausting.
For the other 99% of human history, definitely men. In recent history all of the household income was expected to come from the man. In prehistory, men needed 25% more wooly mammoth to not starve to death.
I think generally women, it's in a lot of stats where ads are catered for women and they go more into debt with credit cards I think, and as a woman, I do spend money on clothes and stuff that I don't REALLY need, but at the same time I think guys can also have expensive taste for the luxuries but I don't know depends...
When single, men spend more... they throw down major money on dating and pursuing a girl and looking good and having nice items or cars. When being a longterm couple, girls spend more... they like to get pretty things and feel free to spend big money of purses, clothes, and items for their places.
I'm single I don't, I'm blessed with good female friends who feed me🤣🤣...
Most of my money is gone becuz of drinking coke and eating fast food daily, or buying manga's anime stuff and all...
@Stickykuza lol... well, I guess not everyone is the same :/
I'm a good guy friend🤣
Women are the spenders when it comes to all things impractical.
Like for us men I’d say 3 pairs of shoes is plenty.
1 set of boots so you don’t a nail going through your foot or something else like that.
1 set of work shoes if you work somewhere fancy
1 set of “work out shoes” basically just sneakers.
Personally I just have a pair of of boots that use for all those things.
That's not got much to do with gender. It's just down to who has the most wealth. A more wealthy person will of course spend more.
So whoever is more wealthy will do so, which currently speaking there are probably more rich men than women because patriarchal society's. Which is more Sexist issue than a gender issue.
Most women like to shop, and most advertisers aim their products at women, so women must spend more.
Historically, men go to work and bring home the money that the woman then uses to buy groceries, buy clothes for the kids, pay bills, etc. ... plus go shopping for herself.
