Did anyone here have guts in their teens and twenties please tell me what it was like?

I had guts but in the wrong places lots. A shoulda maderr but no love for should have's.

I have had a general lack of fear in my life, and as a child, what fear I did have, I sought to reduce or eliminate it. You might say if I found out I was afraid of something, I would attack that fear.

Examples: I didn't learn to dive until I was in my late teens, it just never occurred to me. Then when I went to try it, I realized I had a fear of throwing my head first down, even into water. So I had to start by rolling in, like doing a somersault into the water. After a while, I was able to fully dive. I had a similar experience with backflips; I had a fear of under-rotating and landing on my head. So (having learned to dive previously) I would do backflips into water until I gained confidence to do them on land. I also realized I was afraid of the dark. I forced myself to not use light at night, when I would walk in the dark or even at home instead of turning on a light I would move in the dark. I would go to the darkroom at the college photography course, and sit in the pitch black. Now I am very comfortable in the dark and actually prefer to move in darkness or low light almost always if it is naturally dark. I was afraid of death, which I realized was very similar to fear of the dark; they are both essentially fear of the unknown and/or an anticipation of pain due to fantasizing about the unknown being painful. I analyzed and overcame both those fears.

Working through these fears and leaving them behind for me was a positive experience. I was able to participate in many activities and actions that I saw others miss out on. I gained more and more confidence all the time, and more and more skill. Another example is that I became more coordinated through practice. I would go down to the river with my friends, or sometimes alone. The way to the swimming hole was to park on the road, then walk down a trail to the river, then you had to follow the riverbank for another kilometer or so downstream until you got to the swimming hole with a waterfall, and a tall rock to dive off of into a deep pool. I would run and jump from rock to rock all the way down. I learned a path and got faster and faster. I was surprised one day taking a girl down there how slow she was. She was so timid, even about a step from one rock to another when they were a meter apart that you didn't even have to jump. There were many leaps I would make, she wouldn't even consider trying. It took around 30 minutes on the way that normally took me less than 10.

But they do also have a couple decent leaps as well, at least in terms of distance.)

Anyway, that's a bit of what it was/is like. You just do things, enjoy life, and keep going on to the next level.

I definitely had a lot of those during my teens and early 20's yes...

tacos de tripita...these were basically that, it was the guts of the beef lmao... but, very well cooked, seasoned and all that, the idea of them has always sounded YUCK to me, but they taste so good... lol

I am a natural born 'outsider' and a 'goofball'. I had a lot of 'guts'.

To where I went after what I was interested in. So many different things. To 'say' and to 'do'. Even in my twenties. Nothing has changed since then.

I know you are asking for details, it's just, there's so much. So, answering this would just take me a long time to say it all.

What I needed to, wanted to, felt like, thought I could try, I did. Sometimes I got nervous, other times I knew I would get in trouble... but, even though I knew I would get in trouble for it.. I still went with whatever that was, because it was either doing good for someone or for myself. I am simply just being myself.. and that's having guts.
