As far as I know, a pica is a form of measurement that printers go by!

  In the print shop, we used a measuring device called, a Pica Stick.

  It's been a while since I've used one so, I don't remember all the amounts of measure on it but one was a pica, another was a point. I got a feeling they were only used on typeset so, as everything's done on the computer, today, they might not even use a pica stick, anymore.
