Do people leave lights on during the night where you live?

If I go to the kitchen at night, I can look out my window see the back of houses with lights on in certain rooms. Which don't really make sense to me because the position is facing just to mine which only has a small path in-between it's not a street at the back.
So only people who gonna be walking there is home livers of this area.

So yeah just noticed this a lot and so came the question.
Also there is a lamppost right there, good for me one reason I never use the kitchen light I can see thanks to it anyway lol.

I'd guess that 10-20% have lamp posts at the end of the drive way that they leave on. Very few have outside light at the house itself. Even less leave any indoor lights on unless they are active at night like I am.
