People tell me that they think I'm very strong and resilient. I don't always feel that way but I always feel very honored to receive that compliment ❤️

mentally and emotionally, yes... because I've been
physically, I would hope so... fortunately, I have not been tested that way I'd say and honestly I would not like to find out
I would like to think that I am, I really wish so... especially after seen many close ones to go through certain experiences and adversity

It's a trigger word for me. My dad used to say it all the time: kids are resilient. It was his excuse for doing whatever he wanted with no concern for. It's minimizing and de humanizing. It means your needs don't matter. YOU don't matter.
It kind of irritates me as it seems dismissive, intentionally or not. It's like the person saying "you're resilient" is a way for them to not acknowledge the absolute suck we endured and actually help us. The hidden implication is "Resilient people don't need help. Resilient people don't need rest or care or nurturing bc they're resilient."
I would say "tenacious" not resilient. I'm a pretty easy going guy. But when I want something there is no quit in me til I either get it or till it's proven to me resoundingly it's unattainable. Resilient sounds like I can take a beating lol. And I'm a glass half full kind of guy. Life is to wonderous to be anything but. I look at whatever blows I take in life as what needed for me to grow bigger and better... I don't know maybe that is the definition of resilient.

I haven't gotten that compliment before, but perhaps that's because I haven't been tested in the same way
that's a really good thing to have and being modest is a huge plus because it shows your a team player and that's what the job market looks for and to further add your not a primadonna
Doubt it. From what I can gather, people see me as kind of a loser who is way smarter than them in most ways but super dumb with relationships and stress and depression
No, they don't because few people know me that well, but regardless, I AM very resilient and strong anyway.
The last 3 things I've heard me described as IRL is Respectable, Intelligent and Hard Working.
I've never personally heard anyone described as Resilient.I'd say determined. Resiliency is more of a tool in my opinion.
I get mad when I am supposed to, I laugh, I cry, I feel love. Id say I'm pretty resilient.
Yes, I have had 4 companies go out of business that I have worked for. Had to start different types of jobs on the fly to support my family
Some do but they know not to use that word with me.
