Should I care if my friend has a brand new xbox series x?

Not everyone has the money to buy into the latest and greatest tech all the time and there is no point of being jealous of others.

What matters is no so much the hardware but what you can run on it.

The game engine 'Unreal Engine' has recently released a new iteration 'Unreal Engine 5'

This is a HUGE step forward in what will be possible from software developers but it will take them time to fully leverage that power so if you cannot buy into every tech advancement you should buy into the ones which count the most and one of those is coming in the next 5 years or so at the point where the software developers are making use of the latest tech with this new game engine.

The Xbox X can use it but the tech will be old hat by the time the software has matured for it.
