What are the most common engines in USA is it 4 cylinder , straight 6, v8?

With respect to @Wise4myage a December 2021 article from the Universal Technical Institute says that 4 cylinder cars are most common. That aside, I'd be shocked if V8s are the most common in the U. S. given their cost, their fuel consumption, and the stunning lack of vehicles that even offer them as an option.

I want to say v6 or 4 cylinders. 4 is common with a lot of Japanese car companies honda toyota mazada but a lot of US cars like the challenger have v6 option compared to their v8 counterparts.

V4 is probably the most common since the most popular vehicles (toyota camry and corolla) generally have those engines (although camry is available in a 6 it’s less common)
