2022 was a year for me where so many people from my past all of a sudden wanted to hang out and party, my mother included. These people wanted nothing to do with me for over 10 years now, so it's strange for me.

My wife deploys a lot and I'm left at home with my non-verbal autistic kid and I've learned to not care about a social life or being social. I lift my weights at home, play video games and enjoy leisure, and I basically just feed my kid and take care of his needs... and my kid just likes to run or play video games... pretty simple life and I'm fine with it.

All the people from my past coming out of the woodwork and wanting to "party" and bullshit like that... I'm fucking 40 now, been married for 14 years, got a kid, and I just don't have any desire for that bullshit. A six pack of strong beer and some time alone is as party as I want when it comes to party or adventure.

I think it's best these people just move on with their lives and leave me out of their bullshit... including my alcoholic mother. I get it, the economy is completely shit since 2020 and is only going to get worse... but not my problem. Hard times should not make all these people that wanted nothing to do with me suddenly want me involved. If it was that important there was 5 to 9 years ago, there was plenty of time to try. I'm moving on... and might silence my stupid Facebook, so people can't call me or try to talk to me.

An ex, an ex best friend... all I can say is if someone is from your past they are very likely to belong in the past. We like to think people evolve and it would be unfair for me to say people don't, but a lot of the time there's a good reason why you cut off each other. You will learn it again if you give them a chance to come back.

Yeah after JR high one of my good friends left for military school then in my last year of HS I was hanging with another friend who invited him over to hang, we got high ( my first time smoking pot), I helped him on his feet by getting him a job and now we play Xbox basically every day

Quite often. Usually friends. In several cases women I had had relationships with. It was cordial.
