Lol 😂 It’s always a mystery that forks and socks, disappear in the house

The socks disappear in the washer and every so often a lost one shows back up.

The forks go out the door. They break the rules and go to work and school, outside for a snack, in bedrooms where they are not allowed, etc. They are stowaways in pockets, beach bags, and lunch boxes.

When my oldest went off to college, I bought the child a set of silverware to take for the dorm room. THREE years into school, I was visiting this child at school. Gone was the silverware I had purchased for school. In its place I found FORKS from MYYYYY kitchen! Of course, this beautiful child of mine plead innocent and first claimed the forks were not from my kitchen and then switched to, "I don't know how they got here."

This question is so true and funny 😂 I only trust paper plates and utensils since covid hit, so I dont even search for the forks lol. As for the socks, i just wear mixmatched pair or flipflops. I got tired of lookin for those mfs

If you use a clothes dryer, there is a little gap where the tub meets the chassis. When the tub spins around sometimes small articles of clothing like socks get caught in that gap and as the tub rotates it gets fed into the chassis and ends up gone.

Forks? I´ve heard that a couple of people lose their socks. I only do when I´m away since I have a special basket for socks that need to be washed. But I´ve never heard of people losing their forks.

MIT did a scientific study several years ago, and discovered that socks actually do disappear in the laundry. They did not discover where they went, but they theorized that they disintegrated in the washer and/or dryer.

The washing machine eats the socks that my 14 year old hasn't put under the TV table. The forks are on various surfaces near my 17 year old's bed.

Dryers sometimes suck up a sock. I had the exhaust cleaned and found three. I have never lost a fork, but I always eat at the dining room table.

forks end up in the trash accidentally, my mom always counted hers, when she was short, she found it in the trash.  Socks ? a time space vortex that forms in your dryer.
