What do you think of the derevyannyy kamen?

This is the first sketch the artist gave me for my character the derevyannyy kamen

It looks really interesting. Does it live in a forested or rocking environment? Because it would be very stable over uneven ground

It lives in the forest in the mountains it's skin is made of petrified wood

Interesting. So it's susceptible to fire but other than that very durable

[soulbabe]

Actually no fire wouldn't really hurt them unless it was hot enough to melt stone because petrified wood it's just fossilized wood so it's more quartz than plant cells so you need to hit them with enough Force to shatter the rock

Oh! That is brilliant so even though they look like they are more related to the wood element, it's actually Earth element

I wanted something that would convey some of the elegans and whimsy of the forest but the strength and durability of earth

Thanks It's one of the 5 main races in my book there is also the Vogel they live in the tree's and have large unmoving eye's like owls so their a bit unsettling

Theirs the vody they are aquatic based some of their design off sea monsters in sirens

But they have a few changes here and there

This is intriguing period I would love to see these different races!

I like it, it's a pretty creative spin on spriggans/nymphs/ents/elementals/etc.

It's skin is made of petrified wood which you can't really tell yet because it's not finished yet

Petrified wood is fossil wood, I assume she is very old then, millions of years old. o. o

Yep I also thought the color's would be cool and stand out against the typical spriggans/nymphs/etc because I wanted my characters to be a little unique

Looks great, what's its story?

It's Nothing that great but the story is about a princess who has to raise an army in neighboring kingdoms to reclaim her kingdom after her father's assassination and the new king corrupting and mutating the soldiers

derevyannyy kamen is one of the kingdoms to convince for assistance in the coming war

It's mostly written I got a few chapters left to finish I currently have 10 artist working on illustrations for the book

Oh you don't need to do that I don't want anyone to feel like they have to get my book it's not like I'm a good author this is only my first attempt at making a book for the public so really only means something to me 😅
