Is laughing at the accidents of others ok?

I saw a man trip and fall on some stairs this morning, and two women behind him began laughing.

no, just demonstrates lack of empathy. I actually wonder what is funny about such things...

maybe there's a positive view on it... like they recognize, he will be ok and laughter is better than pain? If they go to help and dust him off, that's better.

One of my beliefs is we need schools dedicated to empathetic and highly sensitive people, to better develop their gifts of compassion.

Fuck no and I never understood this. Seeing someone else get seriously hurt or their property damaged is NOT funny to me. I don't understand people who laugh at the misfortune of others.

I’m thinking of situations where the laughter is at the person with the accident instead of helping, and not with them as support. There can be helpfulness in laughing when it’s sone good natured it to help add levity remove awkwardness bug that wasn’t my impression with the question.

It depends on if the person's pants fall down during the accident. And especially if his penis or balls flop out.

I think it's natural, as long as the person isn't hurt. If they're hurt, it's sociopathic.

I've laughed at a mate who fell over about a metre into his gnarly off-piste run (there was a rock under the snow), and he laughed himself sick when he saw me sliding head-first down a red run.

I usually wait to see if the person in the accident laughs about it. If they do, then it's probably okay.
