- don’t be afraid to try
- don’t try to cheat your self just to save a few bucks
- It’s OK to give people a chance, but don’t let them walk over you
- It’s OK to be quiet sometimes and not say what’s on your mind

Learn to focus on the things that matter you the most. Friends, for the most of it, can be replaced. Don't procrastinate.
Don't be immature. Not everything goes by the book. You need to bend the rules too, for your own longterm gain. Learn that.
Only do so much as you are told. Don't go the extra mile where it is not worth it. Give yourself more time than your work, or even your family for that matter.
Maintain a fine balance between your own demand and supply between friends and other people who know you. That way, you will be taken at least a bit seriously. Or even heard.
Figure out who you are and what you want. Then pursue that and don´t look left or right.

My first true love left me not too long after turning 18. My advice to me at that age would be "Control your emotions. Lean on your loved ones and do not process this pain alone. Whatever you do, leave her alone and accept that it is over".
Do not believe in "perfect timing". Any time is the right time to start to do what you love.
