Is it possible for anything to actually disintegrate or would it just turn into a gas? Is it possible for something that exists to not exist anymore?

Physical creation is a 'closed' system. It IS possible for objects (energy or matter) to transit inter-dimensionally by raising or lowering their vibratory frequencies, amplitude and polarity, and 'exist' much as do the occupants and objects in YOUR 'day dreams'~ 'We' are the denizens of the Creator's 'day dreams'. Read the writings of Einstein, Freedom-Long, Bonewitts and Tesla.
Law of conversation and energy. First year of highschool physics.
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Only converted from one form to another.
You can not, through any process, reduce the amount of energy in the world. So true disintegration does not exist. That said, you can of course reduce an item into non-percievable heat and alike that, for most intents and purposes, makes it as though it stopped existing. Strictly speaking it only changed form.
"Disintegrate" doesn't mean disappear. I means "break up into small parts". Here on Earth, atoms are essentially forever, although some very light gases (most notably Helium) can escape into space.
In nuclear reactors atoms themselves break apart, and mass is converted to energy. It's up to you whether you want to consider that as "not existing anymore."
