Will Wells Fargo bank charge me an overdraft fee if I over draft by $0.96 cents?

Long story short, I only use this account for daily purchases and whatnot. I made an online order and was incorrectly charged for an item I never received…I contacted the store and will receive my refund but…for now, the amount is still showing up as charged and that resulted in my account over drafting by $0.96 cents.

Debit and Credit accounts work differently. In a debit account, usually going over by 1 cent is enough to trigger the overdraft fee. Most banks let you connect another debit account, such as a savings account, or a credit account in order to keep from overdrafting.

If you rarely, or never, overdraft you can call their customer service and request a refund. The fewer times it happens the more likely you can get it refunded.

Yeah, Wells Fargo and any of the commercial banks etc will rip you off anyway they can. For an overdraft fee or the like that is actually very low. If you are not certain why they are charging it then call them. You can move your account to a smaller bank.
