Usually possible, unless you have a bad account history with the bank or if you're account is super negative. Most banks will let you overdraw up to a certain amount, but they will charge you a pretty hefty fee to do so. They'll also only let you take your account negative to a certain limit, so if you're thousands in the hole, probably not.

Best way to go about something like that is to set it up so you can overdraw and get cash back at a store. Or you can right a check for over an amount and get cash back.
