Put me down for the first day of Spring. In fact, it can't come soon enough.

Actually, as far as I am concerned, the year should begin on April 1 and end on August 31. From which point it should return to April 1. Rinse and repeat.

That said, the first day of Spring is a sure sign that there is hope. That the cold and misery of Winter is finally going to abate. Though in fairness, as someone once said, there is a difference between the first day of Spring and the first day of Spring weather.

Suffice to say that in my native Michigan, sometimes Spring can be delayed. In which case I instantly demand a refund from Mother Nature. Who, oddly, never seems willing to oblige.

Anyhow, the days are starting to get noticeably longer. The Easter decorations will soon be on display - and in some places they already are. There is, in a nutshell, at last a bit of hope.
